2019. Been wanting a Dredd sequel. Your remake was incredible and Olivia's character was almost as good as Dredd himself. If the barometer to success is box office $$$, Hollywood studios are behond the curve. I never watch in the theatre, always purchase digitally. Execs live and die by the immediate $$$$ but can't fathom the value of true art. World has changed. Build content people can be passionate about and the rest takes care of itself.

Laughed out loud at the end. Saw the film in prison. While you're inside you do things you never thought you'd do. Desperate things. Disgusting things. Things you should never speak of when you leave, like watch Skyfall / Spectre... And those things turn out like you'd expect, but in the same mindset of having nothing better to do and desperate for distraction, I watched Dredd, thinking it would be yet another piss poor adaptation of comics / video games / books / older films whatever, using gimmicky 3D to sell a reboot that should have been booted out. Going against past experience of my life as a whole this surpassed my low expectations, and would have actually surpassed higher ones. As someone who rarely enjoys films anymore (last time I went to the cinema was Revenge of the Sith I think) I actually respected the work done here. If another one is made I hope they focus intensely on the script and not too much on cosmetics. Too many big budget films go way too far on the latter and completely neglect the fact that the scipt is lazy and makes no sense (I'm looking at you Avengers: Endgame).

If movies like Zombieland Double Tap and Phantasm Ravager have taught me anything, it's that a movie series can wait as long as they want to get a sequel out. Doesn't matter if it's ten years or twenty, doesn't matter if it's good or bad, if someone wants it made, it will eventually get made. Don't be discouraged that the first Dredd came out way back in 2012. Who knows, we could get Dredd 2 in 2022. Anything can happen.
