So glad you enjoyed him. I saw him open for Colter Wall in Nashville in 2019. Amazing show at a small venue. I really hope you keep reviewing real music like Ian, Billy, Colter, Tyler, Benjamin and many many more. Morgan Wade is a female artist that is a great songwriter that has pain and darkness in her lyrics. Her songwriting is on par with the boys for sure!

There's a video out there of Ian Noe performing on Jason Momoa's room's balcony in like Vancover or somewhere. The song ended up with the title "Letter to Madeline" on the album. One of my favorite cuts from the album.

Country music has many subgenres. Tyler Childers, Ian Noe, Sturgill Simpson, and Charles Wesley Godwin, to name a few are in the Appalachian genre, or that's at least how I define them. They're out of the hills and mountains of Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, etcetera.

Living not far from Ian, and being a musician, thanks for sharing his music. There are so many fantastic musicians out of Kentucky and I am glad that they have made their way back across the pond, if you know what I mean. :) Here's a new sub from me. Ps: I believe this song is written about a crime committed in Lee Co. KY.

I recently stumbled across this channel, and subscribed after the first video I watched. I love your reactions to these songs and the detailed interpretations you give. :) For one of your future videos, I’d recommend Chris Stapleton’s Scarecrow in the Garden.

So glad you enjoyed him! I'm a sucker for gut-punching, poetic lyrics. Ian's voice does such a great job emoting the darkness of his words. Interesting tidbit: This song was inspired by the show True Detective.

I think you might like The Devil Makes Three. The song “graveyard” or “bullet” would be a great place to start. A line from graveyard has stuck with me for years and years, “just leaning on my shovel in this graveyard of dreams. Still gives me the chills.

I've listened to a few of Ian Noe's songs this past week. He's definitely a true writer of real depth. This song disturbed me a bit but it also made me think and that's always worthwhile. This one put me in mind of this Townes Van Zandt song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpyQq36gm7Rle5o
@OliWilford4 жыл бұрын
Listening to that Townes Van Zandt track right now. You can really hear the inspiration of Townes in Ian's music. Any music that makes you get in your thoughts, for me is powerful and a real talent. Just gotta make sure those thoughts remain positive if possible!
