A very clean way of patching is to duplicate the footage layer and freeze the frame on a fairly consistent texture, mask it, move it over the tape, and then track it onto the rock and repeat the process for each turn of the rock. It'd be time-consuming and you would end up with a bunch of layers you'd need to precomp, but it would produce the cleanest results. The luma matte trick is also one that I haven't used before, but I'll definitely have to experiment with that, very cool trick.
@HermanHuang2 жыл бұрын
Glad you mentioned this because it's my usual method when I'm not under a time pressure! As you said, it's quite time consuming 😅

Great video! Biggest thing I saw when it comes to saving time is using keylight + key cleaner + advanced spill suppressor and utilizing the screen matte function to really dial in the chromakey work. Also, using CC simple wire removal would have helped with manual roto work (or using something like RunwayML to auto rotoscope hehe). Either way, it's a nice look into the thought process and how to most utilize time, which is something I'm a huge fan of. Cheers!

Love these challenges but surely doing the slow one first gives you a massive advantage of knowing what you are going to do the second time around? Would love to see you do the 3 hour first and then the 30 to see the difference.

Benny also did one where he had two timed ones and a third with an unlimited amount of time so he could really perfect all the details. I'd love to see one like that from you so we can also see what a really polished final video would look like and how much time actually goes into that.
