My training partner,Matt, was Duncan Macdonald....yea so you know we did 300m repeats. Sessions of 20 X 300m in 41/42 to 46/7 ..mainly 44/46..w 100m jog but never timed 100m which is good idea..now I cant hit Matt C times (can run the time...just working on the distance!)....I actually ran/met against Matt Sr in a X Co race in LA that my friend Adrian Royal won....met Matt at a entrance to one man bridge in middle of race. We came downnhill faster than othrrs..not uphills..just down..and we both stop, Matt said, "after you!" So polite. So running a workout isnt same as RACING...you have to right talent..tight fierceness...and be in a race that can give you times... I came from era w no consistent coaching or program just catch-can. Alberto was among the toughest runners known. Adrian Royal didnt care about your reputation he just put his fight into the race w supreme confidence. Now Adrian trained w Domingo Tibaduiza..learned toughness n good workouts....I was Irish born and Adrian a Brit but we got on and never forgot Adrians drive....note to Matt...and google Adrian's prof pictures of nature. Matt C when he was in high school..college n post was a known stud in middle dist..glad to see kid shine gold

Whats up Track Nation. You guys want to talk about a 1080 Sprint. So check this out. I once pulled a 16 teen year runner to a 3:37 mile with a mini bike. Only thing js he was child abused and didn't have enough sense to stop me. Both shoes bussed, both of the inside of his feet bust and the bottom of the shoe was like on fire.. I did this 17 years ago before they even made the 1080 sprint. Ive learned a lot more now as a coach and i started back pulling distance runners. Great job Matthew C. Man you are cool.
