Great parry riposte, makes people afraid to finish direct - this makes them finish indirect, which means he can counterattack and hit them. Pretty standard stuff but Joppich has turned it into an art form. Throw in some other factors like really strong infighting, and joppich being extremely comfortable on the back line

@@lastbot7383 Yeah I'd say so, haven't seen a trace of him since 2016 Ma had that distinctive old guard chinese style, similar to chen haiwei and lei sheng. I'm gonna be honest with you, even though it's very effective the style is not my cup of tea personally 😅

In order to appreciate the follow-up - adversary's attaque and Joppich's parade-riposte all video sequences should be presented in slow motion, otherwise it's impossible to see with what kind of technique Joppich made his points.
