The Silver Medal winner, Paul Tegrat of Kenya, was a real gentleman. The winner just beat him out in the last split-second. Instead showing frustration, he immediately patted the winner on the shoulder, smilingly. IMO, that takes good sportsmanship.

@@dib_anbesa -- Haile Gebreselasie is no doubt a great athlete. My point was to emphasize the sportsmanship of his opponent. It reminds me of the 1972 world chess championship between Boris Spassky (USSR) and Bobby Fischer (US). After one game in which Fischer won, Boris Spassky immediately stood up, clapped his hands, and applauded Fischer for a game well-played. I admire sports competitors such as these.
