I learned about him through the breaking 2 project, and it is amazing to see someone with such discipline and perseverance and work ethic. I’m very happy for his success in Vienna.

Huge props to the guy from North- Korea, not only was he able to hang on to the pack for most of the run, but he placed fairly high aswell, with a pretty good time. North-korea doesnt have the facilitys to train these athlete. and the guy probably never had any real experiences of a marathon, like in the crowd and the atmosphere in the pack.. so huge props bro, saw u collapse near the finish. Fighting till the end... (Yes, north korea bad, but this guys spirit good!)

Watching these guys finish the way they did, especially the last few finishers, I have more respect for how they finished the race. I know what that is like because I had to experience limping across the line, too. It's painful because you're literally giving all you have, and by the time you cross that line, you have nothing left. These runners are all great at what they do.

I agree, except with over 100 runners it's just very difficult to get all of that info on the screen. Even when the lead pack was down to 10-20, splits are tough to report.

Really proud of Lilesa for that 2nd place finish they were having protests in Ethiopia about not selecting Bekele and how it was a ripoff to choose Lilesa but he did a spectacular job for the silver medal 🥈

Watching this for the second, maybe third time, I am amazed at the difference in finished between Kipchoge and Lilesa and Rupp. While Kipchoge accelerated to the finish, the other two were struggling to not have to sprint - so tired and all. Number 4 sprinted and so sad, but that's marathon. Congratulations to all marathon runners. you inspire us all.

The reason why the Kenyans and the Ugandans were sharing the water bottles is because they all come from a single tribe. It is just the borders of the two nations that distinguishes them. However, they are all from the tribe the Kalenjins so they understand one another easily when they talk. Just putting this information out there.

Kipchoge just makes it look so easy. And Lilesa was jogging home for the Silver, he didn't want to sprint. Incredible.

Coverage doesn't get any better than this. Two commentators who know what they're talking about and called a great race from start to finish. Rarely can I go back and watch an entire 42k but this was a pleasure.

Pete Donegan is the aussie commentator. He calls a whole bunch of different sports in Australia and does it brilliantly. He's one of the best we have ever had
