@AJ B No one's trying to downplay his achievements (that would be an impressive feat) but the fact that he is so tall with so long a stride but is fast and strong enough to compensate for his inherently heavier weight means that he does have a real advantage. Of course not that it would matter if he hadn't out in the sheer amount of dedication, time, commitment, and work that he has, though.

I often wonder when he was at his peak between 2008-2009 if he could have gone even faster in those one off races where he didn't do any rounds but he is a championship guy I guess.

He didn't hold back in the 100m final Olympic record which was the only record he set here, looked like he was going for the world record again the way he dipped on the line despite winning clearly .. he may have marginally improved his own 200m Olympic record but not enough to break his own world record, he hardly eased off at all with Blake challenging him all the way.

Bolt is not human. The limit of a human in 100m is 9.69 The limit in 200m is 19.26s That is what i understand by sprinting peak. Nobody is going to run faster than Blake and Tyson for the next 20 years. Bolt is an alien. I don't think he should be the standard of human sprinters.

I understand he doesn't go all out in any of the heats or semis but even that 200m final he still looked like he slowed up and relaxed in that last 20m, this dude simply brims with confidence. I still think he could've beaten 9.58 WR at least by a little in 2008 when he whipped both arms out and beat his chest with 20m to go.

He had pain in his back from previous injury so he knew at that point he was not going to beat 19.19s so he slowed down on the line and made point to blake that he didn't have to even go 100% out to beat him. He would probably ran 19.25s going all out. He was not enough fit to beat wr he said himself he was too tired after the bend.
