For anyone who thinks Rebeca Andrade lost the gold medal: you're wrong. She EARNED the silver medal. She gave it all and this was her best performance. Just celebrate what she did here instead of criticizing her performance.

@@james2175 If you lived in Brazil you would know that what I’m saying is the truth. Do you know why the team didn’t qualify for the olympics?? Because here we have VERY few athletes that are on the elite level, because it’s a country that still supports very few sports. So this not only about the medals. It's refreshing to see a silver medalist be happy about getting silver instead of pouting about not getting the gold. A little factual detail they got wrong, at 9:02 minute mark, from the man commentator: Suni's parents were not from Vietnam. They're from Laos.... although it's also due to the Vietnam War (Laos is the Secret War part of the Vietnam War; Laos also was the most heavily bombed country in the world, not Vietnam, although 99% of people think of the Vietnam War took place only in Vietnam.) The German girl, Kim Bui's mother was from Vietnam; but her father's also from Laos. Tragically, these are children descended from people the Vietnamese communists and Lao communists had driven out of Vietnam and Laos, respectively, after the Vietnam War, so those two countries have been rather mum about Bui and Lee...

She missed out on the gold because the judges wanted an amercian to win, these are facts. She was immensely robbed in UB and BB, she should've won regardless of her OOBs
@stephanieanneg.gimongala7232 жыл бұрын
@@felipebarros1572 No. She missed out on gold because she has the mistakes and don't have the control on her landings. She didn't even got the desired D Score on beam. Come on, as much as the other gymnasts need to work on their execution, others need to also work on their difficulty and control. You are saying she was immensely robbed in UB and BB and you are so into US gymnasts when it is not a US gymnast who won those events. Derwael and the Chinese gymnast 100% deserve those medals. She isn't the only one who excelled and worked hard for it.

@felipebarros15722 жыл бұрын
@@SamanthaD89 now what you say is bullshit. Andrade put up a huge score in VT, exactly the same as Suni on UB. Andrade should get an additional .3 on UB and BB each in E-score. If you know anything about gymnastics scoring you know that's true. If you want to harshly score Rebeca, you also would have to harshly score Suni, which would still give Andrade the gold she earned. In this situation, where the judges were harsh just on Andrade, it stops being fair. But of course, the judges wouldn't let a Brazilian, Ms. ACL, who lost literally the entire quad due to injuries, come and win the most important medal in the most important event of the most important competition (OG AA Gold), even if the gymnast earned it (this case).
@felipebarros15722 жыл бұрын
@@stephanieanneg.gimongala723 your logic doesn't exist. Please, it doesn't even make any sense. If the judges robbed Andrade of an AA MEDAL, what does that have to do with the UB and BB medals? Rebecca has a lot of bent arms and late pirouettes. She was scored fairly while the Russians are overscored.

I feel the same about Sunis vault scoring lower than Melnikova's helicopter legged vault lol.

I’ve not seen anyone appreciating how young Vladislava Urazova is. I guess because she looks mature for her age, unlike the Gadirova twins who come across as very young. If she’s this good at age 16, imagine how good she will be in a couple of years time. She’s very graceful and it’s nice to see a traditional gymnast. I like the powerful girls like Simone and Jade Carey but sometimes it seems like the graceful girls get overlooked.

If Simone performed to her full potential at these olympics she would have got at least 5 gold medals. However , I like the way the competition turned out and it was a real competition without domination. So happy for Mykayla for her individual silver medal on vault and for Jade's individual gold on floor. Sunisa deserved her win in the all-around but I personally wanted Rebecca to win this title. Also , I am so proud of Simone because despite everything she went through , she managed to get a bronze in the beam final.

??? How beam and bars?

@@daro2404. Simone nearly beat the silver medalist on beam. Had she not broke her back pike connection, she would have won silver and put even more pressure on GCC for gold.
@elizabethb58463 жыл бұрын
@@yuiop6611 She wouldn't have won silver with the back pike connection she needed .233 to beat Xijing and the connection would've given her only .2. With her back pike connection and her dismount she would've had 14.6, .33 behind Guan.

@@elizabethb5846. You are forgetting that broken connections also result in execution deductions, not just a reduction in difficulty.
@elizabethb58463 жыл бұрын
@@yuiop6611 this isn’t always the case. if the e panel feels like it was connected but slowly they’ll take the slow connections deduction but if not then no deduction.

That execution score in the Andrade’s balance beam wasn’t fair. The routine wasn’t too much difficult, but it was clean and steady. Suni got almost the same execution score with some big mistakes. Otherwise both girls are fierce and obviously deserve the gold.

Andrade floor score was a joke. It got higher e-score than Suni with many *many* more errors.
