If people don't mind hopping down to Bellevue, The Special is fantastic with great portions and prices. For the Love of Food Cafe (formerly a foodtruck), also serves some fantastic breakfast burritos, and really interesting lunch variations as well!

Great review. Jon would approve! Well probably not...he's harsh. I'd add Louie M's on Vinton St. It's diner plus burgers. Great vibe & mix of people

Hubby and I often go to Louie’s Burger Lust, 18th and Vinton, for breakfast. Their green pork chili is awesome! 🤤 It comes on the Huevos Rancheros, or you can order it a la carte too. Hubby often gets country eggs Benedict. Good food there! 👍

The Special Restaurant in Bellevue has the best chicken fried steak, hands down! I have eaten at a lot of breakfast places, and this place is one of my favorites, near the very top of my list. Everything is good! Very surprised it wasn't on this list.

What about the place on 50th and Grover? I can’t remember the name but it’s pretty good. They have been there for YEARS!! Same with “The Lighthouse” (formerly the Bellevue Cafe)down in Old Towne Bellevue. Thats the ONLY highlight in Bellevue

Sometimes I will go to the little restaurant inside the Family Fare grocery store on 24th and Vinton for breakfast. It's cheap, and not bad. I'll eat there before I shop and I don't buy as much then. lol

Protip: Early Bird uses Yelp for their waitlist, you can use the app to get current wait times and also schedule yourself a reminder to join the list through the app to get a table close to your desired seating time. Worst case scenario, you can join the waitlist then hang out in your car or wherever you choose instead of having to hang around the outside of the restaurant.

Very surprised The Special isn’t on the list. Probably the best breakfast/lunch value in the Omaha/Lincoln area. Been going there for 5 years now and we actually drive right past the Early Bird in Shadow Lake to get to The Special. No knock against any of the mentioned establishments in this video, but if you really want the complete local package The Special is a no brainer.

These reviews are pretty short. Don’t get a clear understanding of how good these places are. Been going to Vidlaks for many years and it’s always been a great meal. Best waitstaff in town. Another great place to eat is AJ’s just off of 90th and Fort. Food is fantastic. Place is kinda small but well worth the trip. I ordered a Hamb steak for breakfast a few times in there. One time it was different than it had been. I asked the waitress if they had changed anything and told her it was different. Next thing I know, the cook is at our table asking me how he could make it well. Very eager to accommodate the customers.

Shirley Diner is a horrible place to eat!!! Their chicken fried steak is not steak, it's actually pork! When I questioned the waitress, she got the owner and the owner said it's a long-standing tradition that they use pork for their chicken fried steak.... Then call it what it is PORK FRIED!!!

I've lived in Omaha and go there often. These are not necessarily the best breakfast in Omaha. I have tried them, and I'm wasn't that impressed!
