We don't have garbage disposals here in Aus, we mostly compost. However I did encounter 1 in an appartment I lived in during my early 20's, they stinky and mine had an upside down cup in it for yonkies too! I do like how your houses have sucky up dust bins installed in the skirting boards though, that's really cool!

Oh my God. So I have a story about this crime. when I was 21 I had to go to a drug class in Costa Mesa( I grew up in Whittier California)The officer that held the class was one of the officers who responded to the first call. He told us this exact story with a few minor changes. Long story short, this officer basically held a stand up comedy show telling us stories from the force. Best 40 bucks I've ever had to pay the courts. the minor changes, it was a tamale pot not a frying pan. There apparently had been multiple domestic violence calls where she always refused to press charges. And she did have the head in the freezer but also had buried a little bit of him. Either way, bitch was crazy. So after having jogged my memory a bit more, I specifically remembered the police officer said that the reason he had been, frozen, buried and cooked was because of the following. Buried-traditional funeral procedure Frozen-to keep his evil spirit away Cooked- so that he would always be part of her! I know I shouldn't laugh but omg it makes me laugh every damn time and I was told this story 13 years ago. Hahaha

My family lived in Chowchilla CA for 8yrs. I was a young child when living there and I'm now 43. Way back then Chowchilla was a very very small town. Only having one main road,2 traffic lights,a Dairy Queen,one grocery store,a hardware store,one bar,a tiny hospital,a little car dealership,and of course Elementary,middle,and high school. Yes the prison was there but it was more on the outskirts of the little town. So I barely remember it.We would have to drive to Fresno for clothing and shoe shopping. My relatives in California says Chowchilla hasn't changed at all. Maybe a couple more traffic lights but that's it. My friends and I would walk from one end of Chowchilla starting at 10am,walk the entire main road town to other end and be back to starting point within 2 hours. Stopping by the DQ on one way and little grocery store on way back. That's how small Chowchilla is.
