Nice to hear dynamics and groove...seems to have been lost in recent years.

100%. Soloing needs to encourage a time and attention investment, telling a story. Now? A lot of highly skilled players just blast right out of the gate, I guess to maximize trending Instagram clips.

I couldn't agree with you more. I had to go back and reassess Omar. He was my favorite drummer at one time. I, too, was taken by this new generation as it pertains to all the 32nd notes and fast hands but no dynamics. In addition, Omar style is his own, and he didn't copy others. He's clean solid and extremely disciplined. He knows how to flow from one thought to another and takes you along in the journey, and you're not lost.

@@resprotector1147You right. I loved your last line: he's clean and solid, he knows how to flow from one thoght to another, and he takes you along in the journey, and you're not lost". Grat line, and it's true.

@SticksKing . I appreciate your response and that you understood my comment. It's not necessary that people will agree with my point of view but it can be refreshing that I have a point of view that makes sense and can give others a perspective and phrase it in a way where it's a win- win for the commenter and the reader! Thanks man!!

The main différence between omar génération and now Days drummers. ,is that Hé was playing music. Not just drum.....
