y2k has to be one of the best aesthetics for crochet- there are so many types of tops to make and all the patterns and aesthetics that happened in the early 2000's were so cool. i was barely a child in early 2000's so i never know what to search for when i want to make something with this aesthetic ;-; also, i cant possibly forget day 9 of asking for a Melanie Martinez themed crochet video. at least i think its day 9? whose counting atp ToT

I think with the fingerless gloves, you're spot on. Although, we also wore a bunch of arm warmers that just went up over the thumb, but didn't go up to the fingers. Those went up to about 2 inches from the elbow. Those were really comfy! For a bit there all my hoodies had holes cut for the thumb. I dunno, it was comfy.

Honestly, as an old lady who was alive for y2k fashion as a tween no one was wearing crochet or knit anything unless they were a certain wizard fan. It was very much in its "thats ugly and for grandmas" era. That being said this revival isnt a copy, its derivative, so make what makes you happy is more important
