Might have to invest in the float rod, is it beefy enough for hook and hold with big fish in weedy waters

Which test curvenwoudl you recommend for small, medium carp? 1.75, or 2.25? Fish about 8-12 lbs, up to 20lb occasionally. Fishing a shallow, fast moving river

I’ve been using the 13’ glide the last couple of years float fishing for carp, with excellent results, what’s the main difference I would find if I bought an omega float rod ?

The Omega is a faster responding rod. Quicker on the strike. Faster tip recovery on the cast. It’s lighter and the guides are slimmer and lighter. It’s like if a Glide went to the gym and got ripped!

I'd love to see more of the lightest TC1.25 version in action; river chub in particular which was mentioned, but everything that it can do... Mat's tone says it all; you know when a guy just knows, the presentation's not forced at all, it's all genuine enthusiasm and old school grins. Top job - cheers fellas! What is the difference between the Omega float and a ‘power float’ or a ‘pellet waggler’ rod

A ‘power float’ like our Glide rod delivers power through the butt section mostly and then has an active tip to absorb lunges. A ‘pellet waggler’ is much softer and through actioned usually for playing carp on a Stillwater. The Omega Float gets progressively stiffer from tip to butt, loading more evenly. That means a faster tip section, which is more accurate and also faster when reacting to bites. Power and sensitivity in one package. Unrivalled.

Give it 12 months and the next bigger and better will be out. He'll then be telling us these rods are redundant.... The fish don't care about the rods. Use what you've got and enjoy the actual fishing

Fish may not be concerned about the type of tackle you use, and you're absolutely correct about that! However, there are anglers who do value having a rod that enables them to cast farther and more accurately, all while maintaining a pleasant playing experience. As technology continues to advance, it's only natural for us to strive for improvements. After all, if we have the opportunity to create something superior, why wouldn't we seize it? So, while the fish may not care, there are anglers who seek out better equipment.
