Had one of these nearly 20 years. I wear it every day for everything from when I wake until getting back into bed. It still looks great and gives me a great feeling every morning when I put it on. Serviced twice so far it never misses a beat.

Everyone I know that had sold their seamaster 2254 regretted it. To me this is still the seamaster to have, yes it doesn't have ceramic bezel, screw-link bracelet, and coaxial movement but still the 2254 is as classic as it gets

Sword hands and speedy bracelet, this is my favorite iteration of the seamaster! It was my first "big boy" watch!

I sold a 2254.50 I owned many years ago. I missed it so much I bought another. I then added the Omega Expansion Clasp which made a very good watch a great watch on the wrist. Five months ago I had it serviced by a non-AD authorized seller, but an Omega trained watch-maker. It's accuracy is extraordinary, tending to run -1 to +1-2 seconds per day. The 2254 SMP was NEVER designed to operate at that level of accuracy, but it can be regulated to that level of accuracy. This is one of those rare few watches I'll NEVER sell.

This was the only 300M that spoke to me. Never could warm up to skeleton hands of the other variants so I spent over a year trying finding 9.5+/10 condition with the full set. I finally found one and never regretted the time it took because I knew it would be a keeper. Its very easy to wear, flys under ther radar, and is simple. My only slight gripe is the scalloped style bezel can be a little difficult to grip if your hands are slippery.

There will come a time this 2254.50 will become a highly sought after watch. Mark my words. I know i will keep mine. Love it just as much as my 2531.80

This design has aged very well. I think it is THE SMP to own. I prefer it over the later models.

This is obviously personal preference, but the reasons I like this model instead of the later ones is, sword hands, non round indices, slimmer case, a less intricate look braclet which tappers, and last of all a nicer designed wave dial. May well be collectable one day for sure.

Just got this exact watch but in the mid size 36mm and it's perfect on my 7" wrist, I've never liked watches that are 40mm and upwards, they are just too big for my taste..great video👍

The 1120 movement can also be serviced by any competent technician, saving the owner hundreds of dollars when compared to a trip to the nearest Omega service center.

It was my first proper watch. I've owned a bunch of Omega and German dive watches since then. I sold the 2254.50 and regretted it, only to reacquire one a few years after that. The 2254.50 is damn near perfect. The right size for most wrists (41mm) and wonderfully thin (11mm), it exudes such a graceful presence on the wrist. The 2254.50 is the natural heir to the Omega 300 watches from the 1960s, and shares much of their design aesthetic -- the hour markers and large triangle at 12:00, the wonderful sword hands. The modified 1120 is a great movement, and the robust and handsome Speedie bracelet ties it all together beautifully. Omega is releasing too many hockey puck-sized divers now with designs that are all over the place. The Planet Ocean with the railroad hands and the odd proportions, the Diver 300M with the dot hours (looks like Rolex) and the skeleton hands, too many homage watches with fake aged lume. The 2254.50 looks like an Omega. One small quibble is the bezel with scalloped edges. I'm debating replacing it with the original Planet Ocean bezel, which apparently fits. We'll see.

I didnt think too much about this watch until seeing people wear em around my local. (Australian beach suburb, lotta people at the age when they very likely bought new). Man now I highly regret not grabbing em when they were easier to get!!! Best looking SMP300

This is what a watch should look like. Very handsome. But, at 6:33, is the lume insert of the minute hand off center (left bias)? It's seems to only be apparent on the macro shots, but still, should it be like that?

The most important part of this watch is the design language derived from the original ref. 165.024 which was the Omega supplied diver to the Ministry of Defense. Which had applied triangle markers and sword hands. Remove the helium and replace the bezel, you would have a modern 165.024

Not sure why it’s so hard for Seiko and others to make a dive watch that is less than 13mm tall. The new sbdc101 has great proportions other than the thickness and weight which are probably correlated. The 2254.50 has the ideal dimensions and only 150g with all the links on. Probably 140 with a few links removed. Go find me a Seiko diver with decent bracelet with sel, that weighs less than 180g

This was my ideal watch for a long time. I made the mistake of buying a Rolex Explorer II first - mistake because the next purchase after was the 2254.50 that I wanted for so long. At that point I was spoiled and didn't appreciate the Omega like I had wanted to. Truth be told, it's a nice watch with a great aesthetic, but has been caught up in the price hikes that have come with watch collecting becoming a more mainstream thing. The finishing and the movement do not justify the current asking prices of these by any means, Omega from that time period just isn't terribly impressive.

Dive watches from Omega always have a better looks with the mixture of sport and dressy, the Rolex submarine or some Seiko high grade dive watches are sporty , but can't match a formal suit as Omega did.
