It's not an "aged tritium effect" In 1957 they used radium. That's why the faux patina is beige coloured, that's how radium ages. Tritium, on the other hand, usually turns yellow or light yellow (egg shell) colour with age, depending on the amount of tritium used in the paint mix.

Ah...just watched this with an afternoon cuppa Saturday. The quality of this review is almost hypnotic to say the least with such a classic setting, right tone of the voice and great camera work. The wording is perfect. It can anytime top a bbc documentary on watches or infact anything. Please keep it up. I'm content and in peace.

Another great video! Regarding the patina, I really like it. It gives a lot of depth to the watch and it goes fantastic with a tan vintage or tan suede strap. This watch is more stunning in person than any video or photo I have seen.

I still cannot believe how undervalued this watch is. People are idiots. I mean this is it, this is where the history of Speedy starts, and made exactly the same but better. And the first edition is selling for $200k, and you can snatch this beauty brand new for $9k. In 5 years this watch will be worth $30k+

It is too expensive and I dislike limited edition watches. However, I don't dislike the faux-patina as much as some. It makes the dial a lot warmer, and I love the color of orange that it has. While I understand that people dislike it when there are elements to a watch that are fake or imitation I still can't help but feel this is still tasteful.

I have an omega sea master I've had it 6 years getting it serviced after 3 years then after 2 and I love it I prefer it over my tag Monaco and my Cartier tank MC. I'm after a breitling emergency next which I'll hopefully be getting one in the new year.

I really do love your reviews, every time a pleasure to watch. Even though I am not a big fan of what Omega did here. Yes, it is great they released a 60th Anniversary version, but again, WHY this vintage lume. In your video it even looks like the lume on the hands is more orange´ish than the indices. I have to admit than I, with every kind of fake vintage lume, am not on good terms. Nothing beats a nicely aged and faded dial, but how this is going to look like in 20 years? well, we have to see. Again, great review of a, taking the lume issue aside, a really beautiful watch.

I consider the ORIGINAL CK2915 the Most Beautiful dial ever designed. Since coming into possession of that Wonderful Tome "MOONWATCH ONLY", my admiration for this watch grown into Pure Obsession. The 60th. Anniversary Speedmaster, for me Does not Cut Th' Mustard. When you possess this Book, and see the hi-res photos of the original, you will see, how Omega has really erred in some of their design decisions with this new re-interpretation. The Faux Patina is NOT Subtle by any means. When I pay Primo, serious coin for A Limited Edish Speedmaster, I want it to look NEW - not like the dial has been water damaged. I want a New Watch, niot something resembling a Cheapo Chinese Knockoff. I have very good photographs of the CK 2915, brand-new and it looks breathtaking. I feel the 1997 3594.50 "Missions" "Replica" which Omega released back then, although it is in the Moonwatch case, is a much more "Respectful" tribute to the Original. I possess this watch, it has a luminova dial, it purrs away on my wrist like A Contented Kitty, and I smile each time I tell the time. Timeless!!!

Super luminova will never patina, therefore it will never look like the vintage. And Real radium just decays until it doesn't glow anymore which would be an even bigger flaw. So I think what they've done is perfect. It looks real nice on the Seamaster.

Watch The Hands it's just a personal preference, this lume color has no function other than to make the watch appear old and aged, some people like it, I don't, to me it's like a fake exhaust on a car to make it look sportier

@watchgeek your correct it's a beautiful piece. I own one myself being the 60th anniversary! It hasnt been ruined, there is a reason why they done the Patina like that to make it look dated like the original watch remember it's a reissue . To me was a bargain considering the price of the original watch is through the roof. If you own one your love it, if you don't you will never know how nice it actually is. Love all Speedy non dates 🖤

I think you might have interpreted the watch in the wrong way, you see getting a hand on the original 57 will be dificult and very expensive with the cost of maintainance, this watch opens the oportunity for new and old colectors to get in touch with the history and appeal of old aesthetics!

Yeah theres something to that thinking and if thats your thing, by all means enjoy it. The only thing countering that thought is the fake patina maybe. But for me the joy in a watch like this is that its something 'real'. It was (back in the day) meant more as a tool than a fashion item. I have a 71 speedmaster that is pretty banged up. Scratches everywhere, paint is coming off the bezel, etc. Never polished, never restored and it still works perfect after 46 years. Thats what makes the Speedmaster a great watch imo.
