A very helpful tutorial Oni👍, should give a good idea to people whom are wanting to achieve mirror shine on their models! I appreciate the modelers who take the extra time to do this since the majority of the merit on a model car is the body itself. I see a lot of modelers that leave their car with orange peel and using Rust-Oleum paint and stuff on the body, especially the ones that don't make jdm or exotic cars.😢

@OMGscaleworks

For the durability of shine ,I think it probably depends on the clear coat you use and thinner mix ratio.
@Deansscalemodelzone

mine have held their shine over 20 years and going. depending on how they are stored you may have and issue with dust. now with bare metal foil (BMF) i have some that experienced some peeling over many years. not real bad but noticeable. maybe the adhesive gives out over time. Also i never clear coat my BMF.

nice but why do you apply decals and metal transfers to the body before polishing???
@Ismsanmar
@Ismsanmar 3 ай бұрын
The decals (and the paint) are applied from the factory of the Testarossa scale model. He is just removing the orange peel effect on the clear coat that the factory leaves, as it is an automatized process. That's usually the difference between a low price model car comming from a automated production line, and a high price one with the human touch.

@vincentlussier8264
@vincentlussier8264 10 ай бұрын
Yes it does! I get high polishes like his all the time by hand ! It's knowing how to use the right sanding abrasives and polish compounds . It's practice but it works. Electric polishing tools can burn through the paint to primer if you're not careful and their speed can flip the body out of your hand also. Very risky and both ways work but hand polishing is much safer!
