Absolute: Killing Joke is the best Absolute Edition I’ve got of anything. It’s a short story, yes, but the Absolute Edition specifically is great! It includes both Bolland’s recoloring and the original, and the recoloring on glossy paper and original on its original paper. PLUS Moore’s FULL script and extra art from Brian Bolland! If you love The Killing Joke and only have the Deluxe Edition or the original, Absolute is a must. (Coming from a guy who likes short one shot stories and tons of extra content)

Omnidog's Vault Of course what I never mentioned was that it’s kind of special to me as it was my first comic when I started collecting. I’m sorry to hear you’ve kind of grown to not like it. I wish I could get the Absolute Saga of the Swamp Thing & read it for the first time again.It’s my favourite run of any comic,I think I’ll just stick with my six Trade Hardbacks though.3 absolutes are a bit too expensive an ask when I’ve got ‘Moore’s run in 6hardback trades already & have read it first trade to last about 20 times(it might actually be more than that)but yeah I’m jealous of anybody reading this for the 1st time but glad a lot more people are going to be exposed to my favourite (From Hell & Watchmen are probably his best most ambitious books that I appreciate his genius in more,I just enjoy this more)comic run ever!

I have just bought the BYO Absolute (got a 15% discount from my local guy so that's a little lighter on the wallet!). There are 2 books that come with it, book one is the new recoloured edition, and book two is the original untouched classic version. Nice to have both! Cheers

I’m still searching for Justice and New frontier and I will email DC about reprinting them it seems crazy they are Not perpetually in print. I will counter that Flashpoint is worth getting in Absolute. I was skeptical about paying so much for so little. But I bought it on a whim 60% off and love it. Kubert’s art and the tight albeit short story is amazing. I’ve read it over at least twice since buying it a month ago and it’s now one of my most cherished books. Yes DC will probably omnibize (trademarking that word) Flash point but for now it’s perfect. What about absolute Batman INC? I’m thinking just wait for the Morrison omnibus instead. Great video as always, loved this series.

I just ordered the first two Swamp Thing absolutes last week. I'm also thinking about rebuying Watchmen and Transmetropolitan in absolute format, beause those are two of my favorite comics ever written, and my old paperback copies are pretty lackluster (dull coloring, cheap paper, smaller format, etc). I also did the same thing as you and bought the Sandman omnis; I would have liked to have the absolutes, but couldn't justify dropping an extra $150 just for the larger artwork.

Alan Moore’s “TOP 10” is the best bang for your buck absolute than anything I’ve came across.It’s arguably Alan Moore’s best collection of superhero books(yeah it’s as good as Watchmen,but they are completely different takes on the superhero genre so both are must have Absolutes)The absolute contains TOP 10 vol’1 & 2,Smax,TOP 10 ‘49ers & a one shot story thrown in for good measure.The content is as epic in quality as it is in quantity

When Absolute Swamp Thing came out I friggin loved it and I loved the recolouring it was like reading it again for the first time! I picked up the swamp Thing Bronze Age omni and very happy with it and can’t wait for the absolute ST volume 2 this year! Plus nobody STILL understands Final Crisis to this day lol 😂

A little late to the party -- but, I got the absolute Swamp Thing and love the new colors (I didn't grow up with the original comics, just the trades). I didn't understand the big uproar with the recoloring . Did those same people complain about Sandman being recolored? Wondering what your opinion is.

skrewler i think the difference is that the colors were considered an essential part of the story in Swamp Thing. They contributed to the mood and feeling of the book. That said, while I understand the complaints I don’t mind the recoloring.

I wish I had friends that collected Absolutes so I could see the Batman Year One Absolute hands on in person. I’m so conflicted because it’s probably my favorite art in a dc book ever, I’m a massive Mazzucchelli fan. But the cost is way way too much.

Absolute Flashpoint had I think 100 pages of additional content in it, but I think it might be better as omnibus. I would hope they would include that extra material in an omnibus format.

For what Utsav worth, a new edition, printing of New Frontier Delux Edition has been announced, pre-orders being taken for it. Even though I have the 15-year anniversary Absolute, I think I'd like to get the new Deluxe of it as well. And, maybe we need a part 4 of your 'DC Absolute' up-loads...

Hmmm. I want to do a Swamp Thing collection. I would like to get the Bronze Age Omnibus and grab the Absolutes. But I'm worried if the omni is worth grabbing or not. I'm also debating if I want the Alan Moore run collected in hardcover or the trades. I haven't read the series. But the reception is so positive that I think it could be a run worth re-reading in the future. I feel that hardcovers have a longer life which is why I like to invest in them. Thanks for the episode. Hope there's more. This is fun.

I did do a ST Bronze Age omni overview which might help you decide. The Moore run has a high re-reading factor for me because it was so different than what came before!

The Killing Joke is in a small less than 80 page that is recolored HC from DCBS when I ordered almost a decade ago. New Frontier is in a single tpb w/ the DC Black Label on it. Final Crisis gave me a massive headache. Finally, can you do a DK III spotlight on the art. Please. I stayed away from DK III because of DK Returns. I need the better 50% approval before I'll get it.
