We got good development for Joe, Mimi, T.K., and Kari in this series compared to their 1999 counterparts. We had a lot of Tai. Izzy was good too. Only ones that were lacking were Matt and Sora.

Eh sora in the reboot was like original sora they gave her little to no attention. Matt had some eps but basically not a lot of development which is kinda sad. Rest of the cast was great joe and Mimi are way better.

This fight was the best Digimon has ever looked in its 22 year history! Naotoshi Shida the legendary Toei animator animated this episode he is known for the UI Omen Goku Scene, Goku Black, Goku vs Golden Frieza sparring match, and many more iconic scenes from dbs! Even scenes in the dbs broly movie too I think!

You should give Digimon ghost game a try. Watch the first episode and do a review on it. If you enjoy it you can do more reviews. I was a bit skeptical at first since I only liked Digimon adventure 1999, Digimon Tri, last evolution kizuna, and Digimon adventure 2020. But the first episode was really good and I’m interested to see more. It would be cool if we could come back here for weekly discussions on the series again.

Plot Twist at the end: Tai is still in the Digital World. He’s testing out the digital gate that Mimi & Koushiro are working on. Allowing them to return to the Digital World again. The last pair we saw before Taichi & Agumon were Izzy Tentomon who was in the network actually on Izzy’s tablet. They’re going in & out of the Digital World at will in 02 so this could be a way to leave the door open to a sequel. Notice how after the scene with Izzy and Mimi at the office and Tai and Agumon in the sky there was a quick digital distraction wave flash. And if you look at the tree and location Tai and Agumon are at the tree/leaves have data and we’ve seen what that looks like before so that means they’re back in the digital world again. I really hope they do a 02 reboot to Digimon 2020 I wasn’t a fan of the og 02 one so maybe they could make it better in a reboot. Didn’t like the characters, the story, it was all over the place. Hated Davis stop annoying Kari, Ken was the emperor he changed but eh didn’t like him, Cody was a weaker Izzy, Yolei eh. Only good things to come from 02 was Black Wargreymon and t.k. And Kari again.

Alter S' way of appearance is similar to his Merciful Mode. Short but sweet, speedblitz through his enemies. I also like how the ending is so happy and merry, with the kids along their Digimons, agree how it's like a contrast to the Kizuna's ending. Its like its a parralel timeline. Like how the ending analysis is done. Best episode of the series hands down!

This comment from Reddit summaries my thoughts “The way I see it, Digimon Adventure 2020 can be summarized as: how would the Original fit in the Digimon Universe. The Original came before the Universe (meaning Cards, Video Games, 5 Anime seasons , and different Manga, multiple universes, enemies, Digimons, Side evolutions, etc). If you rewrite the Original with a new compelling story in the vast Digimon Universe, you get Digimon Adventure 2020. And it worked. Digimon Adventure 2020 broke almost every single rule the original set in stone. For example: "you can't have Digimon Adventure without Brave Heart." We had break the chain and it worked just fine. They proved some of us wrong, and the soundtrack was amazing if you ask me. Another one, Leomon survived, self-explanatory. Side-evolutions, Armor digievolutions without the Armor/egg, X-antibody (Alterus and Saggitarius). Another Rule, they had a Happy Ending and didn't separate the children from their digimon partners which I thought was a cool touch. The Original, 02 before the timeskip and Tamers had very sad endings. You could say they broke the chain xD well multiple chains and previous rules of the series. I loved it, 10/10. I've never thought I would see Alter-S animated in my lifetime and it was great! Hoping there's a Season 2 one day and hoping Bagramon gets a chance to be a part of it.” Overall even if it wasn’t always great having weekly Digimon from the start of the pandemic to now has been a nice treat and guilty pleasure every Saturday to look forward to. Now we wait for 2040 and we’ll get Digimon adventure reboot reboot. xD

Relax. Nothing against you. As Digimon Fan, I always enjoyed the shows because of the relationships between humans and the Digimon Partners to show how much they're related to each other. Which I always support Digimon Franchise than Pokemon, which is very repetitive with the same purpose and structure while Digimon's not. Either Original or 2020 Version, I support and love two shows because they have their own stories and adventures to tell, and the relationships with their Digimon Partners or each other. Loved the ending, much more different from previous Digimon Shows. The bonds between humans and Digimon will always be strong and together as one. And of course, Omnimon has different kind of forms. Merciful Mode doesn't mean it's used for fighting but rather ending and sending the tormented soul to go in peace before reborn a new, which we have seen how Meicoomon died in Tri but reborn and reunite with Meiko in Last Kizuna. Omnimon X is the X-Antibody Form and advanced form of Omnimon. Omnimon Zwart is the negative and dark side of Omnimon. Omnimon Alter-S is another yet different and stronger form or opposite of his original form.

I know the forms of Omnimon and I love all of them but I think digimon is more real than Pokémon because the characters go through real life problems on top of the fantasy problems of the digital world. Whilst in Pokémon it’s very happy go lucky which is not an issue but I feel you can relate more to digimon

The battle was epic animated gorgeously by toei’s best Naotoshi Shida. Alter-S for the win it was kind of expected since we had Blitz Greymon and Cress Garurumon and the ending was quite heartwarming by letting the Digimon and Chosen Children stay together instead of separating them. Also, Leomon lives and survived a whole series. I guess Negamon/Abaddomon was reborn as a Botamon. I like how Abaddomon was a foil to Omegamon. Also liked the part when Omegamon had Garuru sword and Grey Sword and then had Garuru cannon and grey cannon. Dual wielding swords and duel wielding cannons before becoming alter S. He also used All recover instead of Omegamon’s all delete.

My Summary of episode 67: Pros: - Firstly the epilogue was satisfying for me. I liked the execution of how they showed all the met Digimon friends. Made me smile. - Omegamon vs Abbadomon (Core) was fantastic, really liked when Omegamon fired his Garuru Cannon from behind his cloak. - Fight scenes were better than I could have excepted even when I enjoy more lore and meta stuff, but I cannot say 'no' to quality animation when I see one. - Leomon survived a second time, Hurray!!! Cons: - Abbadomon's (Core) design. Not the biggest fan but at least Omegamon got a good opponent to fight. - Omegamon Alter-S, ok ok ok, we got him with awesome animation/art style, but he beating Abbadomon without almost any effort felt wrong to me. I mean he is supposed to be as strong as normal Omegamon (equal), so how he is able to beat the main villain just with 3 attacks under 40 sec? Overall: This was a good way to end this reboot (good or not series as a whole) and I hope we do not get 02 reboot. Not keen to see another reboot. 9/10 for the episode. My small review of the series as a whole: - First I personally never wanted this reboot when it was announced because simple original Adventure didn't need a reboot. But now when it's ended I have mixed feelings was it truly a good idea to reboot or a waste of time. - Music was good, I prefer Brave Heart and Butterfly still. - These villains of the series were the worst in a bad way. No charisma no depth. Nothing for me compared to previous villains from other series. - I'm not a fan of that series took a direction that Taichi being only main character compared to the original where all 8 kids were main characters. - Other than that I liked lore and new stuff added to this franchise Overall: As a huge fan of Digimon and I cannot directly hate this series, but I still prefer original Adventure over this as a whole. So let's all be friends and something like that. 5/10 Now I waiting eagerly for Digimon GG (Ghost Game) to start.

I agree with your points Milleniumon would have been a compelling villain if we heard him talk which was why in the review we made a big deal of negamon talking. The series is a mix bag of good and bad but I’m happy we had it even though I agree adventure didn’t need a reboot but I guess they just wanted an adventure series with tai and the others not be boxed in with their epilogue ending.

We waited for almost 20 years for them to animate the angel megas Seraphimon and Ophanimon. We got Blitz Greymon and Cress Garurumon We got Omegamon 3 times Finally we got Omegamon Alter S!

It was nice to see something outside the standard "Thanks for all the help you gave us now fuck off until you're useful again and we need you to come save the digital world." format. Not gonna lie though: it's weird seeing the other partners hiding in bags and wearing disguises when they're outside their homes and meanwhile there's just a giant pink bird openly flying after Sora lol. Nice to see Tai and Agumon back in the digital world at the end. I was going to give the episode 5 stars but Andromon is still trapped all these episodes later so they only get 4.

It's the main characters for me that were the reason why I could never get behind this series fully. They only retain their most obvious traits from the original series and NOTHING else. Not their flaws, not their backstories (the whole thing with Yamato and Takeru's being divorced is just a fun fact for instance). Nothing that happens to them really affects them at all. This inherent shallowness is the reason Mimi is the best characters in the series since she works just fine as cute comic relief. The villains in the original weren't much to write home about, but they were at least varied enough in what personality they did have to make an impression. The most interesting idea they did with a villain was the Venom symbiote thing that Angemon had with Devimon that turned out to not really matter. Also there's just a lot of shitty filler episodes that bleed into each other since they only amount to >go here >find bad digimon >maybe find good digimon to help >kill bad digimon, maybe new evolution >go to next place To be fair, some of the episode concepts later did get a little more inspired but since the characters are uninteresting it doesn't really matter.

You do make some solid points and I have to agree digimon 2020 did have some major issues we are not denying that but it also had its good moments. I can understand why people didn’t fully back the series because of the way the fillers and the main arcs were structured. Milleniumon was the big boss but then you had filler episodes after that and then we find out there’s a great catastrophe the structure of the episodes being shown was a major downfall but we will give a big review on digimon 2020 so stay tuned
