@@cosmiclobotomite1262 Ha. Ha. Ha... This song is about Ronnie Spector. In 1969, Ronnie Spector, the lead singer of the Ronettes (a popular band back then) married Phil Spector. Phil was a famous record producer and songwriter, discovering the Beatles, the Ronettes, and many more golden pop stars. Phil was known for his charm, but behind closed doors he was a horrible husband. He essentially held Ronnie captive in his mansion. He hid her shoes at night so she couldn’t run away, as well as lining the property with barbed wire fences and guard dogs. The scariest of these precautions, perhaps, was the golden coffin he kept in the basement. He threatened to kill Ronnie and bury her in the coffin if she tried to escape. The only time she could leave the mansion was once a month, to go to the store for menstrual care products along with an appointed body guard. Ronnie lived this was for a long time, until one day, seemingly out of the blue, Phil comes home with two twin boys. Ronnie asked him who they were, and Phil replied “Merry Christmas!” hence the title-“Christmas Kids”. Phil had adopted the two boys without and consent from Ronnie, who became their mother. While Ronnie became a mom, hers was becoming worried. She had lost all contact with her beloved daughter. The details are fuzzy, and I am unsure how it happened, but somehow Ronnie’s mother freed her from her prison. The boys went back to their biological father, and Ronnie and Phil got a divorce in 1978. Phil forced her to give up a lot of money, and threatened her life with hitmen he had hired. although Ronnie is dead now, the horrors she went through will not be forgotten. Phil went on to murder actress Lana Clarkson in the same mansion in 2003. he was sentenced to only 19 years in prison. Ronnie tragically passed away due to cancer on January 13, 2022. Phil Spector died on January 16, 2021.

this song matches omori's story soooo welll (Spoiler warning) "the christmas were nothing but a gift", being that the christmas kids were sunny, mari, hero, kel, aubrey and basil bringing joy to the town "and loved this town where all of us can live", the town being faraway town "you change your name you change your mind", being headspace, with sunny literally changing his name to omori and his mind to supress mari's death "and leave this fucked up place behind", the fucked up place being faraway town, which is fucked up after mari died and sunny and basil made it look like suicide "but ill know, ill know (x8)" maybe since at the start basil was talking, this could mean that these lyrics are from basil's point of view, since he knows the truth also the edit is not terrible its great

It's basically the omori plot with the song Christmas kids by ROAR, the song reminded me of Basil and Sunny's relationship, considering how their friendship got torn apart because of the 'incident', the 'incident' made Sunny isolate himself in his house from other people for years, causing Basil became rather obsessed with Sunny
