Actually, it is often much more than 5 kg. Many drivers work out their neck with several tens of kg. The head with the helmet weighs about 6 kg. With 5+ g of force in the most extreme corners or during extreme braking, that translates to a sideways or forward load of 30+ kg. And they have to be ready for that many times in the 90 or so minutes an average race takes.

Just an opinion but I think Fernando is the best driver in formula 1 at the moment. I'm well aware that he is not leading the championship and only has 2 podiums this season so far but the reason for that isn't his lack of skill or determination, it's the car. Honestly Ferrari has a reputation for being a champion team but in recent years they've lost their edge and having a top quality driver like Fernando struggling to get on the podium let alone win a race is proof of that.

I do things out of spite The top 3 drivers are Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel. Saying that only Alonso is on top of these 2 others drivers is a mistake, not an opinion but a fact. Why is it fact and not opinion ? Because you cant know what would happen if Vettel was in the Ferrari of Alonso these last years and what Alonso would do in the Red Bull. Its not just putting his ass in a car and racing, F1 is more complicated than this... Alonso is one of the best as Hamilton and Vettel are... Hamilton proved it in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and this year... Vettel proved it in 2008 (First full season in F1 and just look what he was doing with this Toro Rosso), 2009, 2011, 2013 and this year. I m pretty sure you will disagree about Vettel, i m prepared to this but anyway, i know that saying "this driver is the best" is just a fantasy from some people, like saying Senna is greatest of all time or Schumacher... its wrong.
