On campus, one person is BOTH judge and jury for sexual assault cases

As far as I'm concerned, colleges shouldn't be investigating sexual assault cases at all. Sexual assault is a crime and should be investigated by the police.

I agree, the college should have no power of charging someone with a crime or anything like that. What they should be able to do is expel someone for violating their policies, and they could probably have a lot of leeway deciding when exactly they decide to expel someone, and they should on principle let them back in if the verdict is “not guilty.”

Colleges should be strictly forbidden to investigate criminal acts without full criminal procedures. If they are acting as a local government, hold them to those standards, not the kangaroo court Title IX “standards”.

Remember that guy at Yale who was accused, acquitted in court, re-tried at Yale's own kangaroo court, totally mistreated, and is now suing Yale? Yeah you wouldn't want justice like that.

Defamation is a thing. If the school accuses you of a crime, that is per se defamation. It doesn’t matter if they have an accuser, if they are making a statement of fact (their finding.)
