Ah thank you for explaining, as I have blue glasses to help me with my dyslexia I had assumed your glasses were for similar reasons (dyslexics differ in which colour helps them to read). Good to hear these help your migraines, I have a friend who suffers chronic migraine so I will share with them.

I didn’t know there were dyslexic-specific glasses, that’s really cool! As for these glasses, the caveat is that there is a chance they will help reduce the frequency and severity of migraines *if* light is a trigger. If light is not a problem for your friend, I wouldn’t want them to spend money unnecessarily. :) (But I still recommend The Keeler Migraine Method. That book has taught me so much!)

@KristineVike Pink, blue and yellow are common for helping with dyslexia. Often people use coloured paper and special fonts. 😊

I have had migraines since I was 12. It took getting out of high school to figure out that my stress level was a major trigger. It took another 16 years to figure out that I was autistic and that the school environment put me into sensory overload every day. The stress of chronic sensory overload was what was triggering my migraines. Light isn't an issue unless it is a severe migraine.

Nice. I have three pairs of yellow lens glasses I wear all the time. When we had to teach online during the pandemic, the blue light was unbearable for hours on end day after day, and now I can't NOT wear them. They even help with the overhead florescent lights that give me terrible anxiety and fatigue. You're so cool btw. 🧵 from California

I also got a similar lens filter on my glasses when my migraines were spiraling out of control. They're the best.

I wear the same glasses! They are the best thing I have ever bought for my chronic migraine.

Yes, such a lifechanger! 🥺 (Although, not going to lie, I overestimated their magic when I first got them and accepted an invite to the beach. Leading to probably my worst migraine to date. My muscles were sore for a week after. 😅)

My issues with migraines disappeared when i started eating less carbohydrates and more healthy fats, get enough sleep and i use sunglasses when its sunny, and i dont drink wine. Im in Norway just now, and its so hard trying to not eat bread, because its everywhere! Not saying this will help anyone else, but it really helped me.

Thank you for sharing! I am considering getting a pair for when I go into the office because fluorescent light seems to be a major trigger for me. ❤

Thank you for the book recommendation! I’ll have to check it out. I find such strength in patient education, or however you call it. I have chronic migraine without aura, in Denmark that means 8 or more days monthly attacks and 15 or more total monthly headache days. I’ve gone through all the usual treatment options, so now I’m in the waitlist for CGRP-medication, that’ll be interesting!

I have been curious, but, guessed it was something about light. One of the most enjoyable creators I watch all but stopped doing videos because of the lights for them in "xir" eyes

Another migraine sufferer here, glad these have helped you. I will check out that book, but I have to say that I have had some serious disappointments withbooks basically saying it's the migraine sufferers ( I hate the term migraneur, it sounds like we choose to have migraine) fault.
@KristineVike10 ай бұрын
This book is definitely not like that. It is written by a medical expert on migraines who actually suffers migraines themselves. It can be a bit repetitive, but I found it really enlightening.

I have thought about trying something like that for nights. headlights are especially bad and can trigger or make my migraines worse but i already and prescription lenses so getting a tint on top just to try seemed like a very expensive experiment. I do wear my sunglasses at night if I'm not driving and it's really bad. Light sensitivity sucks.

You can buy clip ons without prescription! I did that as a test before saving up for a prescription pair. They won’t win any beauty contests, but they are much more affirdable. My clipons came from a brand called Somnilight, and I think they were under $50, but I’m sure other brands have them too.

Моя подруга во время приступов ела что-то соленое, например присоленный чёрный хлеб или кусок селедки. Еще рекомендую пройти курс пиявок - гирудотерапии, очень помогает при сосудистых заболеваниях.

It’s called the Keeler Migraine Method. It’s written by a doctor who suffers migraines himself, so you thankfully don’t have any of the gaslighty tone of many other migraine books.

Interesting. I get migraines but I'm not sure light is a trigger. I had torturous migraines for years. They aren't so bad now. After many years someone gave me a prescription for sumatriptan, which works. I haven't heard of the book, or your ted talk. Thanks. Does your husband help you feel supported?

There's plenty of info on KZbin about blocking blue light to prevent cataract and optimise circadian rhythmicity. Screen overuse being pivotal to health these days.
