Her and I had a great relationship until he got out. He broke up with me bc of her. After he moved out, he came to me and apologized. What was also funny after we broke up and he would try other relationships, his mother suddenly thought I was better than sliced bread. He told me the same things happened when he went out with others. It wasn't until She passed away that he was able to have a stable relationship and later marriage. We are still friends to this day.

My MIL used to talk about me behind my back to my ex. I could have recorded our conversations and there would be nothing showing her nasty intent towards me. She passed away relatively young at age 63 of Lung Cancer. Smoking Winchester cigars caught up with her apparently. My ex also died relatively young at age 58. He had a gall bladder problem that he used to stand on his head to get the stones moved in the opposite direction. He refused to go to a doctor. I later found out gall bladder problems can lead to cancer and that is what happened to him. We were divorced at the time and I only learned years later he died. I felt very bad at the time.

In his defense, it's a phycological thing. It was so normal for him because he grew up with that woman. He couldn't stand up when there were consequences and she used things against him. She beat him down young. He's really trying now. It counts a lot. I wasn't allowed to have my own feelings or opinions growing up because I didn't think like I was told to. It became easier to be agreeable and go along. If I didn't I got it. He has some therapy sessions to get to. She damaged him.

OMG!!! This is a mirror of what my marriage was like! My ex mother, ex father and ex brother in law was just as bad as this and said all the nasty things this mother in law said to me! Unfortunately my ex husband was very scared of his family and couldn’t defend me at all let alone stand up to them. In my ex mother in laws eyes, I have taken her little baby boy away from here and she never liked me no matter how much I tired with her. We did leave my hometown to move one hour away from them. There is a saying u can run away from your problems but ur problems will always be with you and it’s true. My marriage only lasted 3 years and 3 months. Last month it would have been 22 years of marriage and I haven’t seen my in laws for over 20 years. I only wish them good luck and good fortune in their lives and there extended family too. I always look back at the separation date this January it would be 19 years separated/divorced. There is no way I’ll be in the same room with my ex husband and his family. My kids I support there decisions as this is there family but they have there own hurt too 😢

Ew, I've seen mothers like this who make a big production of showing their "love" to their son in front of a girlfriend or wife, and even ask questions like "Who do you love more, me or her?" and demand an answer. Like how pathetic and gross. The wife may be off too but of course the son would gravitate toward what he knows from his overbearing mother.
