I have a problem with simply switching Oregon and Ohio state. It makes sense but I really feel had the ending gone the other way and Oregon lost by 1 they’d be moved multiple spots.

Absolutely. An Oregon loss would've dropped them below Miami and at least 2-3 of the SEC powerhouses. I predicted had they lost that they would've fallen to 9th or 10th, and I knew if they won that they wouldn't jump Texas. There is some inherent bias against Oregon because they haven't been nationally relevant the way the blue bloods have. I even saw one AP voter place Oregon at number 3 behind Penn State. That would have never happened to Ohio State.

Not just that, but Ohio State would’ve definitely been the new #1 had they won last night. National sports media was doing nothing but glazing Ohio State going into that game and acting like Oregon had no shot. But when Oregon beats them, suddenly Ohio State wasn’t that good to begin with. Anything and everything to discredit Oregon. And even after the win, national sports media still made the game out to be entirely about Ohio State and their mistakes and Dan Lanning’s questionable in-game decisions. Had Ohio State won, national sports media would’ve given them the true #1 team in the country treatment with the postgame coverage….. as in an extra long lead segment on SportsCenter and College Football Final with lots of film breakdown and glazing the players and their performances and hyping Ohio State up to be this season’s juggernaut, followed by another extended segment later in the show highlighting more stats and film breakdown and OSU post game pressers. But instead Oregon won, so SportsCenter and College Football Final gave the game a standard lead segment with no real film breakdown or analysis, made the game all about Ohio State and their mistakes while taking swipes at Dan Lanning’s in-game decisions, and then just ignoring and forgetting about the game altogether unless it was to point out that they still had Texas at number 1 despite Oregon’s win. National Sports media hates the Ducks probably more than any other team in the country

It took the refs ruling a catch as an incomplete (not saying home cooking or anything like that but it was a very controversial call) in order to “win” that game. IMO, it was close, but that’s a catch. Miami escaped that game and they absolutely lost to VT in terms of odds making. Then they did the same thing a week later. Miami is as shaky as Tennessee.

Very interesting - I picked this up in every Georgia game this year. The second halves against Clemson & ‘Bama were the exceptions. Overall, my thoughts are “we are no longer an exceptional team, we are merely a ‘reasonably good’ team…” I think there are many reasons for this - because it is so painfully obvious on both sides of the ball. But perhaps there are just three: poor coaching, poor execution of game plans by the players & the loss of three very key athletes. (Brock Bowers, Stetson Bennett IV & Ladd McConkey). I can count on two hands the number of times that I saw Brock Bowers not absolutely zero’d in on his assignment. Now Stetson was a different story: he did have a number of poorly executed plays. But almost without exception, he led our team through some darned difficult situations. When the pressure was on, he was almost incredible! (That one scramble play, down around the 15 yard line, was astounding - where Ladd was just standing in the end zone to receive the pass.) Ladd was also exceptional in his own right. There aren’t many players who executed above their normal capabilities like Ladd did - giving 105% time after time. Incredible! So, who is executing this way now? Try #47: Dan Jackson. This young man is giving 105% on the vast majority of his plays. And he was a walk-on. I am very sad to say that I cannot say this about #15. Right now, I am expecting us to be a 3 or 4 loss team this year unless someone lights a fire under the coaches first & then starts expecting players to act like a top-tier team. This team does not measure up to the last three years - every game has been excruciating.

Last year when TX beat Bama game 2, Bama dropped from number 3 to number 13. They would never put Bama above TX after that loss and TX barely won most of the year. They were on the struggle bus in a much easier conference. They will keep GA above Bama even if they lose to TX this weekend. Is what it is. Not saying Bama deserves to be in the top 10 either, because they don’t. Bama isn’t playing like a playoff team at all. Just pointing out how this year the committee is ranking teams differently.

Oregon and Ohio st are the two best teams and then a big fall off. Texas and penn st are 3 and 4 and would make a great game but both teams gets kills by bucks/ducks. Sec is overrated again again and again. They have had the best team most years but this year that is not the case. One thing I love is how the ducks got torched by everyone in the media for their first two games but won. Bama beats a mediocre Georgia team and then lose and almost loses again to crap teams and they are still ranked. Two conferences are all that matters. Big ten vs Sec. after that, huge fall off.
