The “bad” acting only seems “bad” because it doesn’t seem like they’re acting! They’re talking over each other and interrupting each other and fiddling about.. because that’s what a real conversation looks like!

@@bitterly_sorryingummm no. It’s bad because it’s disjointed, zero plot, poorly acted and directed. It’s all style over substance. The actors shout and talk over each other - which is the fault of the director.

@@lapislazuli7876 Well ,I greatly love the overall setting of the style of the villa ,the garden with lofty palm ,trees ,cedars ,pines ,cypresses ....the all aesthetically pleasing sides of material objects ,like clothes ,furnishings ,the villa ...and because of this I like the fact that these persons dwell there ...In truth ,I do not care in this short film for the spoken part of it ,about what talk they ...in this film I am strongly drawn to material side of it -the amazing garden with the amazing trees ,the so handsome roomy house ,the blissful restfulness oozed by its overall settings ,far away of crowds...because in my life I deeply need and long so much for such living setting ,because I will never have one and thus I ought to share my lovely moments in life with awful ,untasteful ,eco-unfriendly neighbours who burn plastics in their yeards and do countless of unspeakbly loathsome ,filthy things,...Yes ,I love films with clever and insightful talks ..but this one I love because of the overall material setting and the so wonderfully restful way of life,things after which I yearn so much...so much...

Couldn't agree more! I think Lagerfeld did a wonderful job giving us a glimpse into the luxurious lives of the glamoursly wealthy women who actually wear Chanel
@urbansketch9411 жыл бұрын
I thought this short film was good, I mean for Karl Lagerfeld. Why is everyone hating on this video? First of all, Karl Lagerfeld is a fashion designer; don't critique him like he's a director. He makes short films for fun, not to make the best movies. And second off all, they didn't hire actors and actresses; they're all models and friends of Karl.
@juanjaar754611 жыл бұрын
You guys are so full of it. Say what you will about the acting- the direction, WHATEVER- Karl Lagerfeld has single handedly carried the WORLD of Chanel through three decades and kept it every bit as magical and inspiring as it was when Gabrielle was alive. Many a brand and empire have crumbled and fallen in even a fraction of that amount of time, yet a hundred plus years of after it's conception, Chanel is still a super power of the world. We have Karl to thank for all of it.

Kristen looked amazing in the opening scene as did so many of the other models. Karl creates these short films to showcase his fashions- and the beauty of his favorite models & muses. It isn't cinema and he knows it. I'm sure for the models it was great fun to do something other than walk down another runway or have your picture taken for the 1000th time. Karl has impeccable taste , imagination and it shows here. I enjoyed this.

I agree totally.. So many people are slating Kristen for her acting failing to realise that she is meant to be playing the part of a women overacting.. Kristen Mcmenamy is one of Karl Lagerfelds favorite models and muses of all time.. I think she looks pretty awesome considering she's nearly 50 years old.. A true legend in her own right

The Hitchcock feeling of the mansion's mausoleum of dead hearts. Understood as if you want to be loved and be in love,live your own dream and Chanel will take you.

Was this maybe a look at Lagerfeld himself? The sort of greed in him, the love, and the magic all locked away in some garish costuming? It makes the poor acting quite wonderful and deliberate if you look at it that way. Most of his films he's taken credit for have a "magic" element that clashes with the elegance of high class in a comical way. This actually hits a little close to home, how the illusion is more important than the reality. Lovely to think about, and alright to watch.

I think that Vivien, the fairy, the one who is a girl and a boy, portrays the Chanel dream. Coco was called the garconne, because she was using menswear as inspiration, having the androgynous style. The Chanel fairy (Vivien in the movie) has a double effect: the beautifying effect when everybody at the party becomes nice and posh, and the emotional effect by satisfying the lonely wife. It embodies the Chanel principle in "your" life, ideally speaking. Makes your life a dream.

It's amazing what an artist can express, even if it's not his own language. I greatly respect Mr. Lagerfeld for not only attempting to make a movie, but much more for his style he shows in it. Camera Nerds are told that it is not the Gear that makes the movie, it's the man behind the Camera who does. Karl Lagerfeld goes further than that, he's the artist who stands behind the cinematographer.

I wish if they made part 2 for this film . Because the story began at the end of the film when Asta and Anna fall in love with each other. I realized that the film is talking about a hidden desire of Anna which she couldn’t show it in front of her parents. She was rich and had a husband but she was feeling empty from inside and wasn’t satisfied.She wanted someone who understands her feelings and emotions . So when asta came in her dream Anna knew what she really wants . It’s the innocent love between those two women and it’s about the orientation. So when asta asked her do you want to get back to reality? She answered this is real , then asta told her No it’s not real . Which means that doing things in dreams is much easier than the reality. So when she woke up she felt disappointed that why it was a dream? Why it’s not real ? Because she really loved asta and she had so much feelings to her . Then after asta knocked the door and entered her bedroom she felt happy because she came to her in reality. I really loved the concept. I just watched it and I fell in love with it . Anna Mouglalis was great and they suit each other in this film . Anna and asta . I loved the quality of the film and the natural beauty. Asta is beautiful and natural and also Anna is beautiful. The colors are amazing. Very classic and unique with very light makeup which is very natural and of course the music background is stunning and classic. The black and white mode and the color mode is stunning. I wish if there was part 2 . Thanks
