Blows my mind he's able to design a watch and still have it be at a reasonable price point of $200-$300. I looked at what it takes to even start a brand as a wild idea of mine and found that if I wanted all the details taken care of after I designed a watch, I'd easily have to have prices in the four-figure category to make money at it. I reckon he sources materials and movements and then does the watchmaking himself.

I just bought this exact same watch. Brushed gold with "Hollywood" band. It's going to be my signature watch from now on. It's masculine, sturdy, mysterious and unlike anything else out there these days. It's obviously a tribute to Cliff Booth's favorite timepiece, but I could also see Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and all of the badass icons of the 60's and 70's wearing this as well. The band is super soft leather and it feels natural on the wrist, which is great. Detroit Mint ship immediately and they even mount the watch on the strap for you if requested.

I like this one a lot. Definitely unique, as you said there are not many bullheads in this price range. The only others I can think of is the Straton that you reviewed a while back and the new Citizen eco drive but that’s 45mm! Definitely this one is the cheapest but a great value especially with the discount. I would’ve liked to see a mecaquartz movement, even if it did bump the price up a bit. Also I feel like it would be better if the case was just a bit smaller, especially in the lower half of the case as there is just so much empty space. I think it would look good on a bracelet. As always great review Jody and I admire the fact the owner did not give up after the Kickstarter did not work out
