Indeed the best Western ever made . I am 75 . The music of Enrico Morriconi is heavenly too . I think the woman actor was Lolli Brigitta . The finest Western ever made, in my opinion. If Shakespeare wrote a Western, this would be it. A brilliant story, incredible soundtrack, breathtaking cinematography, and the most under rated director of all time - Sergio Leone - milking every ounce of power and glory and heartbreak out of every scene. And then there's Henry Fonda, in one of the greatest performances of his career as the icy killer Frank. And yes, Claudia Cardinale, one of film's greatest beauties. And Bronson at his best, and Jason Robards, and all those amazing faces that fill up the canvas. No one will ever equal this.

So were Henry Fonda and Jason Robards. Both were combat veterans of WW2 in the US Navy. Fonda received the Bronze Star. Robards survived having served on one ship sank by Japanese torpedoes and another hit by Kamikaze which killed 223 of his shipmates. Practically, all the actors of that era were WW2 veterans and that includes Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach.

E la cosa incredibile è, che io essendo Italiano e un bambino ai tempi degli spaghetti western, per me era una cosa abbastanza normale e abituale sentire queste musiche di Morricone. Erano belle, ma per uno che si affacciava alla vita, ipotizzavo che si potesse fare ancora meglio e chissà mai, arrivare a comporre cose decisamente straordinarie. this movie like wisdom and understanding takes time ,I,like you first saw it when I was young .Then I saw it again decades later .I sat quietly, alone , watched and listened the movie is intended to be slow It slowly draws the character of each person and their importance into the story. the music adds to the slowness, you feel the weight of time and space. Leone is working his charm on you .The greatness of a great movie is that after a while you no longer see the actors ,you only see the characters .

Yes just naturally beautiful, untouched by cosmetic surgery and no heavy make up. Claudia is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen on screen. Shame there's not many like her these days.

Every time I have lost my faith in humanity, I listen to this angelic piece of music beautifully composed by Ennio Morricone. It's gentle unwavering ethereal notes bring me back to a time of purity and innocence that we have sadly lost. My fervent prayer is that someday we will return just as Jill did in the movie to a place of inspiration and hope for a brighter more civilized future.

This entire movie is like a classic painting, or a Mathew Brady photograph, captured in time, in sepia tone shades. The ending is indeed sad, and tragic. But this is what makes this a classic opera transposed onto a film for the ages. Sad, yet beautiful and and a true piece of the film makers art. This film will never be surpassed, in these areas.

This music fills my Soul in the places that are missing. As for the film I love how the men continue to drive train spikes into the track even as the train bears down on them as it enters SweetWater. I also am quite partial to all the beautiful, exotic, Spanish horses (Andalusians) throughout the film. A fantastic cast converges with visually stunning costumes (Mrs. McBain) & landscapes of the time frame. I often wonder if dubbing the dialog ever so slightly out of sync was intentional. Imperfect yet perfect, people are imperfect as well. For me it highlights the script even more so, and causes you to hang on every word. It should be remembered as a musically iconic film for the ages. It has such glorious music that thrills and inspires beauty. A Spaghetti Western Masterpiece.

The Velvet and Beautiful voice of the great Italian Soprano Ms. Edda Dell' Orso's voice rises above the orchestra as though it reaches the Heavens...Just Beautiful. One of the greatest musical scores ever written for a movie by the late Great Italian Maestro Legendary Ennio Morricone. The great music score helped to make this the Greatest Western Movie ever made. Priceless!
