Yes, the punk with the blue spiked hair was Colonial Marine Hudson in Aliens. He was also monitoring air traffic and picked up Commando's plane on radar in the movie Commando. In addition, he also played the hotshot police de detective in Predator 2. This is actor Bill Paxton. He played characters that get killed by a Terminator, a xenomorph alien, and a Predator. You might also recognize the actor that played Bishop in Aliens. The synthetic Droid. Yeah, he's the white police detective in this movie. He's also in the Alien v Predator movie. Like Paxton, he played characters that get killed by a Terminator, a xenomorph alien, and a Predator. You can also see Bill Paxton in movies like Twister and Edge of Tomorrow. Lastly, you'll recognize the actor who plays Kyle Reese in this movie. He was also in Aliens. He played Colonial Marine Corporal Hicks. Opposite Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley. The actor is Michael Biehn. You might also recognize Michael Biehn in movies like The Rock with Sean Connery & Nicholas Cage. And the movie Tombstone with Kurt Russell & Val Kilmer. -OG

The idea was that it was love at first sight, just that sight was a picture. "True love" or "destined lovers" as a concept has kind of fallen out of fashion in movies nowadays, but in the 80s it was a pretty common idea.

In the one movie theater in my town, I would watch until the end of the credits, head for the bathroom, and wait while everyone was filing out from the showing. Then, I would walk down the stairs when the new people were headed in for the 2nd showing and just merge with the crowd. 😁

7:06 "Oh, you were in Aliens, too!" That's Lance Henriksen. The role of the terminator was originally written specifically for him, but was given to Arnie, instead. The same writer/director later wrote him into Aliens as a consolation for him missing out on playing an android in this movie.

I mean, having a picture of someone was rare at the time, now it's common because of the internet, but back then it was rare and a picture held much more value than nowadays pictures so that's how he can be in love with just a picture.

But there were a tonne of obvious mistakes made by the writer/director that could so easily have been avoided with a wee bit of tweaking in the writing/direction. It is more an action film. The CPU of the first Terminator used to design Skynet's schematics is nonsense. The end of the film having the metal refinery shoved into the story just to top off the T1000 was disappointing. For me, that takes a lot off the second being great, especially in comparison to the juggernaut, unstoppable first. Terminators kill people, not ask for photos. I just feel the T1000 was flashy & genius idea. but nothing on Arnold as a Terminator.

@@x-man9473, a CPU sent from the future used to create the computer that sent it back? Paradox. All the lovey dovey stuff, the endless cliches. It WAS NOT scary. Just subterfuge, one scene after another. First was damn scary & a lot of people died! When the Terminator wanted his target, Sarah he millled through walls and people & only by chance did she manage to crush it at the end. They chucked the metal refinery in at the end of the second to top off the T1000. Entertaining, but a far far cry off the masterpiece original. Listen carefully to Kyle & what he says about the future. There never should have been a sequel. Cash in on the success of the original, plain & simple.

From what I remember in the Book, John gave copies of that picture to ALL his soldiers! (or maybe just the soldiers he personally met?) It was meant to 'inspire' them. But the twist was, when he first met/ saved Kyle, John handed him the ORIGINAL picture before walking off. Kyle never knew why.

Okay FUN FACT: most people don't notice the little details in Arnold's performance as the TERMINATOR. In the police shootout scenes one of the bullets from one of the officers guns ACTUALLY pierces Arnold's NECK.... If you look closely at his Chest/ Neck area a squib popped, to give the illusion he got hit..... But Arnold being the PERFECT FIT for this role, pretended to not feel effected by it...

I always find jarring whenever I see someone watching a movie that's been out for over thirty years. For the first time in friggin 2020 or whenever this video came out. I also find the reaction that kids have to things like phone books, payphones, arcade games. You know things that older people like me find completely normal. I mean I see a phone book and I'm like oh ok it's a phone book. While my nephew acts like he's found some artifact from an ancient tomb of something.

It was hubris. The police were _utterly_ unable to stand up to the T-800 because _they_ had no idea what they were _up_ against. Reese, on the other hand, knew _exactly_ what he was up against, and so _was_ able to fight it even though he was outmatched in every conceivable way. As Sun Tzu once wrote, "Know your enemy and know yourself and you need not fear the outcome of a hundred battles."

Remember REESE told her he always wondered what she was thinking at that moment the photo was taken. So you found out at the end when she was in the jeep with the dog and the kid took her photo......that at that moment, she was thinking about (and remembering ) REESE. So all the years he was memorizing her face...every line of it...falling in love with her from the future....he was looking at a photo of her...and she was thinking of HIM.

The Terminator was a stand alone movie. It was a time loop that would never cease. Future Kyle always being sent back to 1984 to save the future, yet creates the son that is the leader who inspires Kyle to go to the past to save his mother.

This movie was shot and takes place in the early 1980s. You didn't need a permit. If you wanted to buy a gun you just bought it like a normal purchase only with an ID like a driver's license. Most of the time you can handle the merchandise and then purchase it with your ID. The world was safer back then

Everything after has been a mixed result, its can be attributed to many things, lack of foresight, too high expectations, having arrived too late, a generational effect where older fans reject this new direction, poor writing, cheep gimmicks, out of touch with what fans want to see, unsatisfying story, many of these play into a series decline and a disappointed fanbase.

@Ricardo Alonso Rojas Not sure how T2 is overhyped, it is unquestionable an extremely well made movie... John Connor isn´t the hero in T2, since he is still a boy - It is a big part of the plot... I´ve managed to stay clear of "Dark Fate", similar to how I´m probably never going to see Han Solo, so I can comment on that. T3 had subpar characters, story, and generel tone, plus many fans felt misled by the trailer.

Cool fact the dude on the phone who ditched Sarah and said he couldn’t make it is actually the director James Cameron, he was so dirt poor before he made The Terminator that his mom had to send him coupons for McDonald’s hamburgers, the fact that he went on to make Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2, True Lies, Titanic and Avatar is just crazy and awesome to an aspiring movie director like me

Literally the T800 models are practically the masterpiece of skynet designed to perfectly blend in human areas to kill. They use living tissue around the unit and its equipped with alot of information. Human anatomy, weapons, tactics, voice altering as seen and my favourite. Able to learn to become more human to adapt further thanks to their CPU.

4:50 Actually you have to fill out a 4473 back ground check forum, produce an ID (A drivers license) and get cleared by the FBI before you can buy a firearm in the US. This usually takes about 2 minutes or less if you have a clean record at the FFL (gun store). In this scene Arnold's Terminator shot the gun store owner before he was given the forums to fill out. Not like the Terminator would have filled them out anyway.

Bill Paxton is the blue-haired punk guy with a short bit near the beginning when Arnold was naked and got his clothes, and Bill was also the soldier in Aliens who kept freaking out ("Game Over, Man!") Lance Henriksen is the supporting main LAPD cop at the precinct, Vukovich, and in Aliens he was the "robot" Bishop that got ripped in two by the queen xenomorph. But unless I missed it, you did not mention Michael Biehn. He plays Kyle Reese, Sarah's protector from the future, and in Aliens, Michael was the lead surviving soldier, who kind of flirted with Ripley and agreed that the best thing to do was take off and nuke the whole place.

21:00 in the the novel tie in John Connor would give out pictures of his mother to certain soldiers in order to help them rally against the machines. John Connor was their hero but Sarah Connor was his and his inspiration to fight for humanity. But made Kyle Reese's picture unique though is that it wasn't a copy. It was the original. John never told Kyle why he gave him the original.

Terminator 1 and 2 are arguably the best sci fi action thrillers of all time. Every Terminator movie made after Terminator 2 aren't true Terminator movies. Although the special effects don't hold up as well as they do in T2, T1 was incredible for its time. Glad you liked it.
