That KZbin money coming in clutch for this build. I wonder how long it has been since he has built and sold a new SMX? I can't imagine him selling multiple SMXs often or very many. I'd bet maybe one per year. His money makers are all the smaller builds he does like converting that nitrous engine to a boosted engine, the big back Hemi, etc and the KZbin picking up has surely brought in some significant money. I would say the Camaro build wouldn't have been possible if his KZbin didn't pick up after the deal with Cleetus
@timwatts70146 сағат бұрын
@@Berm_Blasteri would think we all would be surprised at the number of smx he sales per year considering he’s known world wide for his engine designs /performance
@Berm_Blaster6 сағат бұрын
@newmexicann well Steve is saving like $60,000 on the engine alone since he owns it plus the car was partially built when it became his. I'm sure Steve and Kevin have some kind of deal where Steve gets a bit of a discount in exchange for an engine or something for Kevin. I wouldn't be surprised if Kevin is having Steve build a badass engine for Soccer Mom. I would guess Steve will have spent around $100,000 - $150,000 on the build total since it's having bus personal SMX in it and previous customer having some work done on it before pulling the plug. I am curious on an accurate number on how much Steve will have into it when it's all done and out of Kevin's shop. However I don't see Steve giving us an accurate amount, seems like most people that build high end cars like the Camaro or Eagle or Murder Nova or Shocker or that lime green Mustang won't ever disclose of an accurate price unfortunately. Probably because they don't want the wives knowing how much they have spent on a car 🤣💀

There are PLENTY of cars like Eagle at the strip. It’s one of the most popular cars to turn into a drag car. I’m more impressed with the cars you can drive on the street AND at the track. Especially at this power level. Mullet is an impressive car but this one has a lot better chance at breaking records like getting down into the 5 second 1/4 mile times.

In my opinion.... This camaro excerds the build on another Camaro hot rod that has a hell of a lot of hype but was disappointing at the git-go. Going at it thoughtfully, expert engineeting, expert fab and assembly. This car is engineered and built by the ones that will drive it. Mistakes snd future modifications will be minimal.. I doubt the windows will blow out 😁 Big SMX dual turbos. Thoughtful testing snd tuning . Lets see when its on full pass, mid 3s, low 5s. Wait and see. Steve knows what fast is. His 3700 pound wagon is 4.0 or better.4500 hp. Same motor as the Val Camaro Hats off to KSR. Kevin is a fine engineer. Ricky and Eddie are primo Fabers. Anticipation of testing next week is very high . Cant wait !!!

Getting off pad and a boat would be the equivalent of locking up the torque converter in a race car. Its a unique experience the first time you do it when the steering gets light and the speed jumps 5 to 6 mile an hour instantly.

lol I totally understood what being "Up on the plate" meant. The plate in our case was the actual metal plate attached to the motor above the prop and the two pitch plates on the tail of the boat. That was all that was in the water at 100mph.

Lol at the pad thing. I knew what ya meant. I didn't comment because this isn't a fiberglass or boat channel. I could tell you knew what you meant. I have been learning this stuff for last 3 years. Added a pad to a 1971 old race boat. Then gave it to my son and started building my hydrostream. Paid for by working on a drag and drive car lol. Pad sized vary btw. And shapes do as well. Going for triple digits in my hydrostream.

As far as the comparison to the wagon, that Camaro may be lighter but it's got more frontal area thus more drag. The Impala SS sedans like my 96 is actually a pretty slick body shape for aero.
