There is a lot of material that ended up on the cutting room floor within the Bond movies. I take a look at one deleted scene in every 007 Movie. Enjoy!

My Uncle was a sound editor on a few of the Moore films. As we lived near Pinewood, my uncle took me to see the Stromberg lair set in the huge water tank set. Fond memories.

It's a shame they cut the rooftop chase from the final cut of OHMSS. Unless I'm mistaken, it wouldn't be until TWINE that we'd get an action sequence set in London. In the early movies he rarely spends any time there. He gets his assignment from M, flirts with Moneypenny, goes to Q branch, and then he's on his way. OHMSS is kind of the exception because he spends more a lot more time there. And I agree they should've kept the scene of Bond watching Sanchez's return to Isthmus on TV in LTK. It would've established how powerful and influential Sanchez was. Plus it's really quick and unlike most of these scenes wouldn't have slowed down the movie at all.

Across all of the movies, I think that there's only a few deleted scenes that work or add something. I actually really like the license to kill deleted scene. It's just so Bond bad ass, smoking away and has the call back to Felix and Della's lighter.

Plus the scene where Bond and Pam arrive at the casino [ on the 2nd night ] exit the limo and start up the steps. You catch a glimpse of it in some versions of the music video. Bond looks really mean, as he's on his way to kill Sanchez. Why it wasn't included in the out-takes on the Ultimate edition, I have no idea. You can tell something is missing in the movie as it cuts from Bond saying ''I hope you don't snore Q,' [ from the 1st night ] To Sanchez meeting the Chinese gangsters [ the following night ] and then Bond paying off Pam before heading for the elevator to plant his explosives.

That Roger Moore one was brilliant 😂 I had never seen that before. 3:23 i really wish they had left this scene in. Largo and bond had a great menacing chemistry on screen I always thought. 10:50 i totally agree this should never have been cut. Not only does it set up the vengeance but also reinforces the big flame thing for the end.

Unspoken in-joke: Sanchez was killed by "a genuine Felix lighter". Fitting as so much of the film seems to reference "LIVE AND LET DIE"... including the casting of David Hedison, who I wish had played Felix in ALL those movies, from the beginning. (He really is fantastic in season 1 of "VOYAGE".)

It’s a shame that a lot of the earlier deleted scenes no longer exist but sadly that is life and practices back then. There wasn’t as much put into preservation back then, you just need to take one look at the state of the BBC archive during the 70s to get a idea as to the attitudes. Regardless great video my man, can’t wait to see more.

Hey man! It's been awhile. Didn't mean to neglect you and glad you're still at it. Love some good James Bond from time to time. Just waiting for the woke trash fad to pass from movie making like it's finally passing from culture and society. Too slowly, but passing. Seems movie producers always get the memos late, and it's probable that they'll still ruin the next Bond flick with "equity" and the other woke garbage. That's why I skipped the last two, though I figure I will see them some time. Eventually we'll get back to some decent Bond though. I have no doubt. If the world stands. Though I did enjoy his first three jaunts as our favored spy, Daniel Craig can suck a green wienie! Later.

There's an extended scene of Dalton laughing maniacally after shooting the guy with the harpoon in Licence to Kill. Definitely rightfully cut, IMO, as it's so out of character and unsettling to see Bond (even as played by Timothy Dalton) behaving so mentally unhinged and crazy.

Perhaps you have already located it for yourself but, it is available to see here upon KZbin; type into the above search bar "Licence to Kill Workprint" and you will readily find it. It is not only the laugh that Bond gives after harpooning Clive the diver, but the entire Krest stateroom scene is dramatically different and really quite dark stuff. While Bond holds the knife to Lupe's throat he calls her a lying slut, and after seeing the slung-up body of Sharkey he says to her, if it wasn't for her, all of us would be getting out of here alive. Even as Bond leaves he says "Whatever" dismissingly to her instead of the forewarning "Stay here." A truly dynamic and transformative scene with its originally-committed lines that I saw as exciting to see was attempted but probably was pushing the Bond character too far into villainy on its own. It could have worked, though, but not without some additional scenes and new lines that we do not have in the final cut. I could see Bond here calling Sharkey an idiot for getting himself killed if the other deleted scene involving their original approach together of the Wavekrest, whereas Bond observed Lupe up upon the deck was kept in. In it he had warned Sharkey to be careful because they were being followed by their URCV, and now, murdered and hung-up the line "Idiot!" means not malice and coldness but foolishness and concern - you did not listen to me and now look what has happened to you. Now we are both trapped! In that scene also we learned why Bond later approached the Wavekrest underwater under the guise of a manta ray. These are indeed scenes that work for us as dedicated Bond fans, and it is revealing even more of the stories that we we have heard of Timothy Dalton's attempts to push the character he played into stronger, more realistic and unexplored territories. As I have always personally thought, Dalton was the strongest actor, skill- and talent-wise as an actor, to portray Bond. He had the experience, the ability, and the desire to take the character of James Bond into a multi-faceted direction and make him multidimensional and complicated, a reason why he was too ahead of his times. He would have taken Bond into uncharted storytelling territory, and I even furthermore believe that he could have even directed a future film with how his involvement with more and more aspects of the filmmaking was going. Scenes like this leave us with a demonstrated example and the questions of, "What-if?"

I know Never Say Never Again isn't canon but I've seen a lot of action scenes with Sean Connery that never made it to the final cut . Eg Connery jumping after a security guard or firing at Spectre agents or swinging like Indiana Jones in the underground cave scene. Energetic Action is one thing sorely missing in this film and wondered why these scenes were cut in favour of the drawn out video war games scene.

I think the worse one where they messed up and should have kept in is the one from TND. That movie needed an evil henchman with a Schtick (like the bowler hat, the metal teeth, and the metal arm). Instead, we got the boring Stamper. JB needs more fantastical elements like in the old days since they are fantasy movies anyways. Of course, som,e JB they should have cut way more...Like OHMSS and QoS should have been cut in its entirety.

Favourite Bond George, favourite movie the one with George and favourite deleted scene the one from that movie. If you think about it for a while that scene misses so much in the whole of the movie: it was the perfect finish of the first act where Bond is falling in love with Tracy and meanwhile he is gaining new clues to track down Blofeld, the cut from Sir Hilary Bray's office and the running train is a bit abrupt for me and that's the reason why, I must admit also that the idea of Bond chasing a SPECTRE's spy around London was brilliant, many Bond fans complain for the lack of action in the first part of this movie and here it is the explanation of this lack. Anyway for me Majesty is a masterpiece a 10 out of 10 but I'd give an arm to see that scene in the editing of the movie as much as I'd like to see at least 2 or 3 movies more with George. Welke stad jij won in de Nederlands?

I see so many people complain the film "needed" to be cut more for time... BUT, compared to some of the later films, "OHMSS" is one that feels to me PERFECT in its pacing. Like a great novel, it starts slow and builds... and builds... AND BUILDS!!! When the first shot is fired at the start of the helicopter assault on Piz Gloria, to me, the tension is FINALLY released, and it is the single greatest climax of the entire series. "YOLT" comes close, but "OHMSS" is such a better story on every level. The only thing I wish they could have done better would be the blue-screen work during the toboggan chase. The music really helps cover it.
@MrJoebuck74
@MrJoebuck74 2 жыл бұрын
@@henrykujawa4427 The rear projections are really bad, the biggest issue of the entire movie especially if you think that Peter Hunt was a genius as editor, for sure they could have done it much better. I think that you nailed the point perfectly telling that Majesty is a movie that grows moment by moment as George did, for me in fact the last bit of acting when he holds Tracy dead in his arms is pure gold, he quipped those lines so well on a brink to cry. I love George: for me he was a great Bond and really deserves to be side by side among the others, obviously Sean was a better actor and will always be the best, Brosnan is a fantastic Bond but the movies he did are not fabulous except Goldeneye and DAD is atrocious. I think that YOLT is an overrated movie the climax in the volcano is fine but Connery is abored and bland the Bond girls have no carachter at all the script is botched, they sholud have done that movie AFTER Majesty, not before.

I dislike the way the Bond films, starting with "Live and Let Die," have extended the humor into gags. But the one exception is the "jaguar" reveal in "Tomorrow Never Dies." The story of the crabs in Dr. No is that they were shipped into England in the baggage compartment of a plane then hurried to Pinewood Studios where the scene was to be shot! But on arrival, seen as they’d travelled in the baggage compartment of the plane with no heat, on arrival they were frozen and dead ! So, the scene had to be changed ! The main reason for the scene cut in OHMSS is that the movie is already very long, that is for a Bond Movie of the 60s and having these extra scenes would have made even longer and more confusing! As for the scene cut in Diamonds, I completely agree with you but apparently it was done to keep the pace, at least according to Guy Hamilton ! The one liner in the scene cut in A View To A kill is fabulous but unfortunately, in keeping that scene the story would also have lost its pacing ! However, if you have all the James Bond DVDs or Blu-Ray collectors version, most of the deleted scenes do appear !

Great video. Most of these scenes would not have added anything to the films. The foot chase in OHMSS would have been cool. The DAF scene was needed. (But, honestly, there's another issue with that bit. Presumably it was Wint and Kidd who did it. Did they mistake Plenty for Tiffany? They saw Tiffany on the plane. Even with the deleted bit, the scene makes no sense.) The Golden Gun scene should have been kept. It adds a nice character touch: Scaramanga cheats. The LTK bit absolutely should have been kept. As you said, nice Fleming bit. The TND scenes should have been kept. Ricky Jay was cast because of who he was and then they didn't use his skills? Makes no sense and he was a more interesting character than Stamper. Finally, I'm of mixed mind about TWINE. I get that the later reveal is more dramatic but Renard/Carlyle are so underused that I would have liked to see more of them.

The scene from AVTAK wasn't a deleted a scene, it was an outtake because Moore deliberately changed his lines for an on-set big laugh. With Goldfinger, you forget to mention the deleted scene prior to the Fort Knox invasion, where Felix Leiter talked to the townspeople to trick Auric Goldfinger's invasion. This scene was deleted because the producers thought it made Felix "too heroic" compared to Bond. This scene does apparently still exists, as it was here on KZbin at one point, only to be taken down by Eon Productions.

And also that cigarette lighter in the deleted scene from A View to a Kill appears to be the same one in the deleted scene from Licence to Kill.

I kind of wish they had kept in the scene with Roger Moore and Stacey Sutton where he drops the F bomb. Obviously they could not because it would have over stepped the mark and and made it a 15 rating or worse and Bond Movies are probabaly PG at worse. Still it would have been quite funny and kind of appropriate for Roger's more silly self mocking Bond.

And now the murder of Plenty O'toole makes sense. But there are still nonsense moments in "Diamonds are forever", like... why Wind and Kidd tried to killed Bond and Tiffany... by a bomb, being on the same boat?! and why did they want to kill them anyway? If Bond killed one of them (who were lovers) and another one would try to kill him in the act of revenge (even suicidal)... now it would be a story.

The deleted Zukowsky scence from Goldeneye is probably my favorite. Even Martin Campbell regretted cutting that one.

@@Leo-sd3jt Indeed, It shows his background as former KGB agent. (I assume you have to know your guns if you're a KGB agent) and the russian mafia side to him. He has his gang around him, one on point with a magazine to fit in the counterfeit glock. I'm pretty sure Zukovsky was in a good mood that day, otherwise I think that "gun dealer" would not have lived another day.

The omitted scene in "Diamonds are Forever", where. Plenty sees Bond with Tiffany, is a huge plot hole that explains why Plenty was discovered drowned in Tiffany's pool.

The fight scene in LALD is the guard on top of the hill, when Bond lands with the glider. They changed it so Bond knocks him of the cliff when he lands. Thats why the guard is played by a stuntman....

Honey Rider should have at least had the water up to her neck or chest to give a genuine sense of perril and danger when Bond rescues her. Maybe that would have been too much for the audience of a Bond movie back then?

On the back on some Thunderball DVD cases is a picture of what appears to be Largo in a white suit standing on a beach with several of his men in diving gear. He appears to be pointing with a spear gun, as if he's explaining or drawing attention to something. That isn't in the movie, though I'm not sure if it's a publicity still or a deleted scene. But that picture is always fascinated me

@@DutchBondFan I love Thunderball but the absence of one deleted scene is rather glaring. In the climax just before bond is about to jump out of the helicopter to battle with largo and his goons in the water Felix says something about a kitchen sink. It's obviously the latter half of a line. And he was probably saying that bonds diving device had everything but the kitchen sink. But only hearing the last half of the line seems rather awkward and seems the result of sloppy editing

Interesting fact. In Thunderball the villain has an extension on his yacht which he jetisons to get more speed and that extension is then attacked and blown up. When I lived in Miami I knew someone who worked for the company which built that boat extension, except that they didn't know it was going to get blown up as they put a lot of work into building this boat extension for a James Bond movie and were horrified when it was casually destroyed!

I remember watching Thunderball on the old ABC years ago, and it showed the bad guys ship firing some turbines up and shifting into hydrofoil mode, which I never saw before or ever again afterwards…. Sad part was, someone said something along the lines that the Disco Volente was a fast boat and except for Bond swimming underneath her and seeing the ‘wings’ it’s never explained in the final theatrical cut…
