I think everybody does this live but it’s a different situation during tournament time. During regular practice during the week, I feel that it’s good to let someone establish grips so you can practice escaping once it happens. But during a tournament, you should be doing toreando like your Steph Curry trying to cross somebody in an NBA finals game.

Wow! Right on Professor I am greatful for your teaching methods I feel like you have not forgotten what it feels like to be a white belt. So many instructors forget what it’s like to be a white belt and just jump in so deep in teaching that it leaves many clueless and confused. Also some may be to embarrassed to speak up therefore wasting time. So again thank you very much keep up the amazing work.

Much respect to Keenan, but did anyone else notice at the beginning of video he states you don't want to enter square to the guard player and then sets up a drill where he enters square to the guard player? Keenan knows more about jiujitsu then I will ever know but this video is confusing
@sergiotigernunez10234 жыл бұрын
I understand like correcting the fact that I entered the guard on a square position, that is my way out, literally he shows a way out.

@John2corner6 жыл бұрын
First of all, there are different types of steroids and peds therefore, it's not about how your body looks. Secondly, I never said he was on sth. We all know that steroids use is epidemic in Jiu JItsu world which I believe should be fixed asap. What I was trying to say is that if he is not one of them cheating, he is a legend already. His intelligence and understanding of this game has allowed him to be this great.

Haha - guilty. So stupid, but guilty. Seems like it's the way to play the BJJ game... you do this, I do that, etc. In competition it would be a pretty stupid mindset to let yourself fall into.

Depends. Some of the most effective self-defense techniques don't perform well in competition... like rubber guard for example.

Why do a combat sport then ? Bjj used to dominate mma #makebjjgreatagain
@364245672546 жыл бұрын
While it is true that in self defence or MMA you don't want to be on the bottom any longer than necessary, bjj used to dominate mma because people did not know bjj, not because it was somehow magically stronger back then. Now, everyone knows and trains bjj along with wrestling, including the strikers. The counter to striking is grappling, but the counter to grappling is grappling, as they say: that's why it is the single most efficient way of defence (provided you do know some sort of takedown).
