Bindi seems to have the perfect balance of _'prey = DESTROY'_ and _'packmates = GENTLE',_ and whether or not she sees the mink as pack or something else, she clearly understands that Master wishes her to simply locate and not hunt the mink (thank God). But equally clearly, she wants to eradicate that muskrat carcass with extreme prejudice! 🤣🤣🤣

Lawn roller! You could totally integrate that into a lawn roller frame and it would be very efficient. One arm to hold Bindi, one to push the roller handle. I really think it could be a valuable tool.

Wow. That drive is what sets pit bulls apart from the rest. When I had my bull breed/ retriever mix, he lived for the ball and had a lot of that same intensity. I had to learn to tell when he should stop because he never stopped on his own. If I let him keep fetching, he would continue running as hard as he could with heat exhaustion, bleeding foot pads, or nails worn down to the quicks, and he wouldn't feel a thing until about 2 hours later when he relaxed. Pitties always need a job to match their intensity. They are working dogs through and through.

It's actually a really good sign to me too that she urinated precisely at the end of the training session after showing zero interest in the mink - urination is an expression of water and waste products from the body, and physiologically I think it represents the end of a sort of body cycle. Essentially, it signified her body knowing that something important had occurred, and indicated that she had done excellent work mentally and physically since she had built up that level of waste, and was literally "marking" the end of the session, sort of locking in that experience in her body and mind. She also has excellent dentition!! She yawns a lot on the car trip home and you can see how well-aligned and strong her teeth are. An absolutely fantastic dog - I completely concur in Joe's excitement over her! Can't wait to see what she becomes, hope she has a long and happy life ahead.

My gsd was very small for almost a year. She ended up having a growth spurt and going to her full weight by year 2, she was 60-70 lbs and has maintained that ever since. So bindi might grow some. One thing is my pup was spayed at a young age, i know that affects growth. I miss sherni, she was such a calm intelligent and driven dog. I hope you have taken the time to think about how you can mitigate risks to your dogs so that what happened to sherni wont happen to bindi, or any future pups.

Because you don’t understand a pitbull makeup. Just praising her or giving her a treat wouldn’t be an Adequate reward, she wants to destroy an animal. Joe is training her to hunt and dispatch (kill) different types of larger vermin like a raccoons muskrats etc. so when training to be human he uses this method instead of letting her kill a muskrat live.

This dog specifically has nothing but top of the line dogs in her Pedegree for 30plus generations. Her prey drive is 1000 times higher than the average dog. She is bred for Performance not looks like most breeds. Confirmation is last on the list when a dog has most of the desired traits the breeder is looking for.

Gameness is More and more rare in dogs these days. A good example is a husky bred for sled pulling for generations will pull and continue to pull even when experiencing pain and extreme fatigue. They can Have shredded paws from ice and be Exhausted on the brink of death but will run to their deaths to please the owner on a sled. A true pitbull is the same way and will push forward with snapped legs on the brink of death to please the owner at all costs.

This is proof if you stimulate a pitbull with proper exercise or give it a job they thrive. Still using her drive but with control, she isn’t dog aggressive but a game dog through and through. They are bred to please Their owner at all costs even pushing through exhaustion and pain. Joe is an amazing trainer and such a pleasure to watch him work with all types of animals, but it’s truly amazing what he is doing with bindi a true game bred Apbt working with other dogs and a damn mink.
