This card made me smile ~ and I needed something to smile about because today was a rotten one for me. Life changes - it's hard - but you roll with the punches and laugh when you can. Four years ago I went through an ugly divorce but I found strength that I didn't know I had because I stopped and took care of myself first. I went to therapy, learned to meditate, walked for miles and miles (cheap exercise and fresh air), and took each day as I found it. Someone once told me "You know how when you are on a plane and they go over how to use the oxygen masks? They always say to put on your own oxygen mask before you help others. Well that's the way you should live life. You need to make sure you take care of yourself first so that you can help others." I believe that as women we give and take care of others ~ and we forget to take care of ourselves in the same way. So go on a girls' trip and enjoy -- Peanut will need a mama who can find those bits of happiness hidden in hard times. You got this girl!

My sweetest friends are my Subbies. I do appreciate them sharing their life with me so I feel connected. Ok, I went to Walmart one day, (it is the only shopping store in our town by the way), and I was standing there holding my buggy at the door thinking what I had to get. In an instant, a patient of mine (before I retired) grabbed my buggy thanking me for being such a nice greeter and having the buggy so close to the door and walked off with my buggy. I was buggyless and laughing my head off. I can now say I was a 3 second Walmart greeter. hahaha That's what happens when you go shopping without one's makeup on. LOL, I pray the Lord will give you the Grace needed to move forward Victoriously. Thanks for sharing your talent and your life with others. Maybe we will meet up at a Walmart one day. You can have my buggy with a smile attached. teehee

Love the card. That car was in all the beach movies from the 50s/60s. Sending you and the peanut hugs as you start the school yrs. My peanut is 6' 2", a month shy of his 18th bday and about to start his senior year in two weeks! Long story told as quickly as I can... My peanut, had afternoon kindergarten. 1st day, school bus stopped in front of our house and he gets on w/o ant hesitation, while I'm freaking out inside. I jump into my car, beat the bus to school, park and position myself behind a tree in order to 1) get photos of him getting off the bus and 2) seeing how the staff handles my baby. I got great pictures and was impressed to find the principal helping each peanut off the bus. Retelling this story in great detail to my sister-in-law and her sister (a principal herself) weeks later, I was told "Mary, we call the police on crazy people hiding behind trees watching our students, and getting scrapbooking pictures is not a good defense!".

“You don’t come here to see the card. You come here so we can be friends.” I do! I totally do come here so that we can be friends! I mean, don’t get me wrong - I ADORE your cards! And I learn so much card-related stuff from your videos, like Copic and distress ink colour combinations and techniques, and how to fix mistakes, and tips for image placement... and just so many good things! But those are like frosting. You’re the cake. You’re the part I care most about. I really like frosting, but do I just want a blob of frosting on my plate? No. I want cake! (And then frosting on top, pretty please! 😁) So thankful for KZbin, so that we can be friends. PS. As your friend, I have to tell you about Astro Aerosol. We had a random spider infestation at our house (like, I woke up one morning and my walls / ceiling / bed / face / hair were all covered in thousands of teeny tiny spiders! **shudders** ) and that spray totally saved my sanity. It just works. It killed everything, and we’ve never had a problem since (and that was several years ago). I don’t know if you can get it in America (I’m in Australia), but if you can, it’s well worth the cost! (We’re broke, and have to spend cautiously. But spiders in my hair? HECK NO! **throws money at spider spray***)

Adorable card! I love the acrylic paint trick. I'll be praying for your situation, because that's what friends do. Wishing you the best as you transition into this new stage of life! Peanut will love school...from all the comments you've made about him it sounds like he's already a social kiddo and will enjoy being around his new friends every day. It's going to be harder on you but since your now having less household income think of it as a great learning and socialization period for Peanut and free babysitting for you!! Don't be ashamed of going to Wal-Mart. I live in Arkansas and Wal-Mart makes the world go 'round here. And the greatest thing they've added for the rushed single mom is curb side pick up of your grocery order. I'm disabled with a bad back and walking around a grocery store twice a month was always the thing I dreaded the most. Now I order online and they load it straight into my car at grrr designated time. Fantastic time saver...And they'll even load in your "cheap" acrylic paint! I laughed when you called it cheap bc I use that brand for my acrylic pours that I enjoy doing and have never had a problem! Keep on keeping on, sister. You and God have got this!!

Awesome card! My daughter is the same way about spiders. When she was a teenager, if we killed a spider in her room, she wouldn’t sleep in her room for weeks, even though the spider was gone. Take care and hope you enjoyed your weekend.

Hi again from Wollongong, Australia... where we have fantastic beaches! Maybe your beachy break could be here! Even today... middle of winter it’s 20degC! So your “friends” extend all over the world! I was so happy to find this latest video this morning when I woke up, that I had to watch it straight away. Yep... still in bed writing this! I am sorry for your sad circumstances, but it seems that you realise that God only ever does what is good for us and you will learn and grow through this. Thank you for your videos. I love that you not only show us how to do different things but you do share your life stories with us as well. I went through a divorce, I was a huge mess after my separation and I didn't have many female friends (turns out not really many guy friends either like I thought...yeah, I was dense. Lol) But I did have one female friend and she helped me out tremendously. I I always Google images before I color them...I don't think I usually read about them though. That's awesome that you learn whatever you can. I went to the zoo with my son, husband and his family recently. The gorilla house seemed like it was going to be exciting but when we got in there, a group of people were taunting them and before I even realized what was going on, I hear a loud banging sound and the group of people next to the glass ran away from the glass and almost knocked several people over (myself included.) Once they cleared out, I seen several gorillas looking very upset while one was still charging at the glass. The look on their faces ruined the whole experience for me. I think the wrong creatures were behind the glass.

The only thing missing is seagull poo spatters all over the car I'm imagining. 😂 I've been told there are tons of seagulls at and around the beach. I'm glad you're doing well. They used to be lined up on the coast north of San Diego, surfers parking "where there was enough room to get them off the road. Great job on the beach scene. I am all about summer and I agree, it goes too fast. Love the card and the story of the Woody. Growing up in the 60’ s we had a station wagon with fake wood panels. Us kids rode in the back all the time, no seat belts. Sorry to hear about your divorce. Glad you are staying friends for Peanut. I get the cheap...I quit work when we had our kids and cheap was our way of life. Last year my hubby got laid off after 25 years at his job. Had to take a cut in pay to get a new job so it’s back to cheap again. Thanks for sharing not only your cards but your life. Good luck with everything and the dryer situation. Thinking about the history of the car (hand made), dying art, expensive and how it relates to handmade crafts and cards...I’m afraid if I had to add the hours I spend making a card, research, development (and a prayer that they don’t fall apart), I’d have to charge at least $75 lol... but by gosh it’s handmade and industry made cards can’t compare to the love and time spent creating something special. At a very difficult time, I discovered your videos, and your stories were so entertaining, I was hooked. You provided such a welcome distraction as well as useful information that helped my techniques. What a cute card! I love the beach scenes! I'm glad you brave Walmart. I work there and depending on where you live. it's not so bad. The craft section has some great things, good stuff for cheap. I know what it's like raising a child and starting over, money is always tight, but it will all come together. The spider situation though. I could not live with that and when you were talking about it. I felt bad for you because I would want to move again and not live there. Gave me the willies just hearing about it. I have moved 17 times and I will be moving again next year. I think I'll have to hire your crew to move me because they get the job done!!! You will be fine, probably not tomorrow or the next day, but one day you will wake up and realize you are ok and you made it! I love this card. I live by the gulf and it's perfect! I am so glad you said we are friends....I would love to hang with you and your girlfriends at the beach....it would be a hoot! LOL! I love this card. It harkens me back. I am so glad you sound so much better. For a while you sounded like a deer in headlights looks or as the saying goes. I am glad you are getting your feet under you cause if I know one thing for sure it is you got this girl and you will be stronger and better for it all. I have a remedy for the dryer cause I have been there. Now you might get some input on safety cause I come from the generation that did have a clue about booster seats or child safety seats we just threw them kiddos in and off we went. Anyway back to the dryer. For several years I put a nylon sock over the exhaust of the dryer and vented it right into the room. I kept an eye on the sock and made sure it did not fill up with lent. It warmed the room which was not perfect in the summer but great in the winter. Anyway I am here to tell the tale so it worked. We’re all friends who just haven’t physically met yet. Myself & my late husband actually got on far better after our separation so sometimes it’s for the best. I stayed so long for my daughter’s sake but when I had my 2nd child my 1st born who was 13 by then said ‘mummy I don’t want my baby sis growing up seeing the things I saw’! So it turned out what I thought I was doing for the best at been the worst. But I live with no regrets as I’ve come to God & accepted I am where I’m supposed to be & my experience will go on to help others going through domestic violence & mental illness. I’m like you Kelly...a friend to everyone. God bless you with the love, support, finances & most importantly peace of mind to help you through this stage of your life.

Kelly, love this card! I am totally with you when it comes to spiders! I was bit by a recluse spider once and it was tragic. Last night a spider was on my ceiling, I tried to kill it and it fell onto my bed! Well, now i can’t sleep in there so I closed the door (like the spider can’t crawl underneath) and slept on the couch. BTW, never did find that sucker!!! Time to spray my bedroom! Keep telling your stories I need them!

Love how this scene turned out Kelly! I always learn something when I watch your videos. I got this stamp set back in June and had a blast making cards with it! I just started learning to use copics earlier this year and I took it as a challenge to make a couple of scenes. Watching your coloring, I would definitely add more wood texture to the shack but I was just happy to get the markers to blend well ha ha! It's so difficult to go through divorce, and even more so with a small child, so I really feel for you!! But it sounds like you and your husband are making your son's well being a priority, so that should help considerably. I admire you and have faith you'll find the right path as you are responsible, hard working and so caring. You know we crafters all care bunches about you too!

STAMP-COLOR-FRAME!! This is gorgeous Kelly and should most definitely be framed. Love the bits of white acrylic paint you’ve added....such a nice finishing touch. Your coloring is so inspirational to watch. *This community has picked me up in my darkest moments after an accident that left me permanently disabled followed by treatments for bits ‘o cancer spots on my arms and the unexpected death of my brother. 🎶 🎶We are family....I got all my sisters with me!🎶🎶 *Spiders and other bugs belong OUTSIDE, not inside where we should never have to cohabitate! Ladybugs might be the only exception. Maybe. *My cousin, who was born in the 50s (WAYYYYY before me...lol), restored one of these awesome woodies. He was so in love with these historic masterpieces. *Thanks for sharing so much about your life...it reinforces what we all feel about being family. Our daughter went through a divorce 4 years ago so my heart not only goes out to you and your little boy but to your Mom as well. My husband and I automatically went into “we will do whatever it takes to help you and the kids !” Looks like your Mom is just like us. I noticed from reading the comments that many many women offered prayers and I join them. God is there for you so I hope you will lean on Him. ❤️ Now on a side note: enjoy the time with your friends but if you do go to a beach watch for “Red Tide” - google it. Kelly, I adore this card. Nostalgia plus for me. My dad had a Woody in a burgundy color. I have a photo of my dad and me with the Woody on the beach. Of course this was a super long time ago, in the 40’s (age is only a number). It is a cherished moment in my life. My dad was lost on February 14, 1950, on the first B-36 broken arrow. Cherish all your memories with Peanut and immediate Family. And remember, you can’t hold a Cupcake when you are Sad. Not sure who printed it....but I would have had I thought of it.....

You seem so strong, so I’m hoping with all your family and friends, you’ll be able to conquer this life twist. My divorce was SO many years ago, and I promised myself that my daughter would not suffer from anything I said because of it. I’m proud of the job I was able to do (and ultimately the job her dad did) and today she has two loving parents she considers her best friends, in addition to her husband. Sounds like you’re on the right track to helping Nathan through this trying time too. Praying for things to work out for you all without too much pain. We’re all pulling for you! I am so sorry for you Kellys. I've been through a divorce too with 2 little kids and I have lupus. So the stress made me very sick. I pray that God protects you and Peanut and gives you strength and courage. I love all your cards and I love watching you craft and you know what???? I don't own copics or Copic color!!! Because I am poor also and can't afford all the things. But it's OK. I get to watch you color with copics and I just love it anyways. I learn a lot and I apply it to my pencil crayon coloring and watercolor pencil coloring. So it's all good! But I DO love hearing your voice at the end of the day and your stories. I'm on my own again now because husband number two died suddenly at Christmas. This past December. So I'm pretty sad and feeling alone too. I pray a lot!! Life can be tough and throw us curve balls just when we think everything should be good or at least OK?? I believe things do even out and get better eventually if we just hang in there.
