Barney was my first Jazz Hero...what a great player...and his arrangements on `Music To Listen To Barney Kessel By`are just wonderful and to this day still very `Hip`...He is the `DUDE`.

What a sound. This performance is nearly 60 years old and the guitar was probably a 50's model Gibson and in my opinion guitar sound hasn't been improved on one bit since. That Charlie Christian pickup on a maple top. I just fact checked myself....It's a 1946 Gibson with a 1939 Charlie Christian pickup. Note knobs on the volume and tone pots; he says they were taken from a record player.
