I don't think it's a workable solution for a small case like that, because it requires a second card, but I have a Studio Display connected to my PC using an inexpensive Thunderbolt add-in card with DisplayPort injection. There's a jumper cable between DP out on my GPU and DP in on the Thunderbolt card, and then I run a TB3 cable to a CalDigit dock that the Studio Display is connected to. Wireless receivers for KB, Mouse and headset are all connected to the monitor so whatever I plug into the other end of the TB cable (PC, Surface, MBP or iPad) just gets input devices without any additional fuss. I get 5K resolution and 10-bit color with working speakers and webcam on the monitor.

Desk space is precisely why I went with a VESA mount monitor. Mounted to the wall (thank you Amazon Basics for the budget friendly but real Ergotron arm!) means I am entirely free to move how I want and my monitor gets no jiggle. My desk can be free of everything in seconds as the monitor can just float up and against the wall, so I can use the same desk for many things now. PS stopped to check out that wall color, it’s so soothing. I’m going to go for a slightly more earthy tone but definitely going to hunt around to see if you named that wall paint anywhere.

@tuntitommosille4 ай бұрын
Hopefully when Apple releases a new version of that monitor, it will have a 120Hz panel as well as multiple inputs. One input just doesn't cut it if for example you want to connect a work MacBook during the day and then use your personal Mac Mini or Studio outside of working hours - not an unusual situation with remote work being so commonplace now.

Damn - I was hoping you were going to recommend a KVM switch that worked with the Studio Display. Also, there's no "for that price" about it on the 60Hz thing because nobody has done it with a true 5K display, so Apple is still the best value for a quality 5K screen. Hopefully they can do a higher refresh rate when the technology catches up!

Im not sure, but i think all apple products screens are incredibly insane, so ive heard that they blur their led(pixel) so it looks increedible high resolution so i think thats why you cant see the pixels in the studio display but could see it in the samsung monitor, but after blurring the image looks super color accurate so ig their leds are incredibly bright and vibrant NOTE: i’ve head of this, im not sure if this is true

if its huawei or samsung eco it would have much less cables and no need to unplug anything. I feel like Apple is way too behind in connectivity between their own devices. the new release add the mirror feature but still to far from Samsung level. The only way Apple did compete is to reduce connect speed with 3rd device and sometime not even allow them rather than fix their own problem
