It's sad to see Takis in this condition. Last year when I went to visit the shelter he just caught covid, and was still working. I have little to no doubt that these people are both educated and uneducated, but still behave with no manners or decency. Please stay strong and protect yourself.

Most of them but some also rescue the animals from domestic violence. I worked in like every level of society. And I know about children and women who's men have killed their pets right in front of them to put pressure on them. Even evel women do such things from time to time. But sometimes the children or women can escape a short time and they then leave the pets somewhere where they hope they will be found. So sad but desperate.

To go from 350 to 430 dogs with minimal volunteering help - dogs who all have individual needs and behaviour problems - is an enormous workload. I'm so sorry to see people demanding more and more from him. Please just keep donating and sharing posts, raising money and being aware and compassionate towards Takis' human limits.

I am Greek. I live in another city in Greece. Everywhere the same problem... Especially in the villages people consider dogs and cats dirty animals, and that they dont deserve to live near human beings. The local authorities are corrupted, and dont give the money ,came from EU , to the shelters. My neighbors thing I m crazy for trying to help the animals . They say that a mother should only care about her children and not other creatures! We must educate Greeks... It's so painful living between those people.

Let it out Takis! It is good you talk about what you are dealing with. It is important that people work together to help these dogs and other animals. People who abuse and abandon animals should be fined and/or do time in jail/prison. The money from fines should be used to help these dogs. The government needs to be involved to find humane solutions to these problems. The government there should pay you for what you do. Those people who told lies to the police about you are real scumbags. Please take care of yourself. When situations get to a breaking point you must make necessary changes. Can't expect other people to have ethics and values like yourself. Don't expect people to do the right thing because most of the time they don't.

This video made me burst into tears and I just want to express my feelings of immense respect and admiration for all the things Takis and the volunteers do for all the beautiful dogs and cats at Takis shelter.The majority of people are too selfish and stupid to even understand what it takes to run a place like that.The effort that goes into the upkeep of it all is incredible.Takis, you are the best!

Those people that are very rude dont know what it's like to be in your situation takis so don't feel guilty or ashamed of yourself. You are doing an amazing job that nobody else in Greece couldn't even do. What were those ignorant people thinking in their heads getting a pet in the first place if they cannot afford to look after it??! It makes me sick how they can do this to their pet. Those people are not fit to have any pets and should be banned for having pets.

Takis, you are so right to be angry. I also cannot understand people who throw away their animals. When I took my first dog I knew I have to be responsible for him. 🐶🙋‍♀️

I was homeless for over a year until I got a house that allowed dogs, I would never give my dog up. we live in an age where people purchase on a whim without proper thought and chuck it when they get bored. infuriating that Takis is under so much pressure, people need to take responsibility of their animals.

RESPECT to you. I would have done the same. I 'inherited' 16 cats. Had to get a house and add a part time job to be sure they had what they needed.

Yes, he will have to stop taking in animals and refer them to other places which are just about as good. Also, if he does take them from people it will have to be a dire case and they will have to donate money upfront and monthly. If not they can try other shelters which are almost as good.
