It's a tune by Donald Byrd called, "Alter Ego"

trumpetman I thought alter ego was composed by James Williams. in any case there is also a beautiful version by Kenny Barron on live at bradleys well worth a listen. pretty tune.

You're probably right. I just assumed Donald Byrd wrote it lol.

Donald Byrd recorded it too, but the composer is James Williams.
