Been waiting for your next video since the John Deere riding lawn mower repair. To my utter delight, you posted one today. I like watching how you break things down and go through a rigorous process in order to figure out what parts are good and which ones you’ll have to order. Nice find! Be advised that the rubber brake hoses deteriorate in time and clog up. Exactly what happened here. On motorcycles we change them out after about 7 seven years with steel flex ones. Looking forward to part 2.

My family owns a motorcycle shop. When we would put carbs in the parts wash we would tie the butterflies open with wire cause crud would build up there. Love those old 4 cylinders. I have a 06 cb919. Honda is amazing. Can't go wrong.

I love this new rig, I don't know if it has any market value though, nevertheless I enjoyed watching you tear it down and back together as usual, can wait for part II. To me it looks like the kind of damage that flooding causes, maybe that's why brakes, clutch and rear differential were so nasty. Nothing that you can't tackle 👊🏻

yea I just thought it was cool and unique and wanted to see if I could get it to run, it didn’t cost to to much either. I was thinking the same thing but figured it would be full of water, I think moisture got in from the pcv hose and corroded the clutch. but thanks for everything brother!!

I started doing the same thing to a 1979 Goldwing on my channel. The engine is seized which I believe to be a stuck valve or piston. I put rubber plugs in the exhaust ports and filled it with marvel mystery oil to loosen it up, then the same brakes you have I have are rusted shut and I don't know how to wire the new lights so its been sitting for a year. Check it out it sure looks different than when I started. Oh I forgot to mention it used to belong to Merle Hagart the country singer.

For next tine remember 0000 steel wool. It polishes aluminium gasket surfaces to a shiny new look and cleans a good bit of rust..all without damaging the aluminium. Of course use discretion and sense wheen using steel on aluminium no matter how soft. But I've never damaged aluminum even with the next corser grade but wasn't being super agressive with it.

Good idea removing the pod filters and going back to the stock air cleaner. Too many people slam those pod filters on because it looks cool. But unless you rejet the carbs to compensate for the change in airflow, you just made the engine run worse.

What ultra sonic cleaning solution did you use for the carburetors?

Just simple green and water

@@TheHomePros6221 That is awesome. Imagine buying expensive cleaner solutions and simple green + water does the job. Watch Wes Work struggled with his carburetor cleaning and it turned pink after the cleaning.

Always tap around the bolt with a blunt tipped rod or tap, use hammer lightly. I always tighten some.. if you can't get it to go forward on an aluminum caliper, then chances are coming out are gonna need some finesse

All the grit in that clutch housing is absolutely the basket if you look at the outside of the clutch basket that holds the plates all the fins are corroded away someone tried to start this bike with the clutch plates all stuck together all the corrosion in the bottom of that housing just ate away at the clutch basket and caused more aluminum grit and grime to build up that clutch basket is not supposed to be different shapes and in sizes
