Yep, definitely a pre-seeded audience. They knew the piece, the conductor, and each other. If anyone believes it takes anything less than that to perform symphonic music, then they are wildly underestimating the amount of work it takes to be a professional musician. Having been a concert musician for more than half of my life, I've seen conductors struggle to get an audience of random people to accurately sing _christmas carols._ And I agree, it was nonetheless beautifully done and I wish I could have been in that auditorium myself. Exceptional performance

There is no heaven. That is why you have to sing/dance and enjoy while you are alive. There is nothing else when you are dead. You brain is just turned off and all is gone and done. All the made up stories of heaven and hell won't be there, it is gone when your brain dies and memories turned off, forever. @@slowflow6474 It's really magical but also kind of simple to perform. He divides the crowd into groups, and gives each group a specific starting note. From there, he just adjusts the starting note up or down by one for each group and plays around with it. The audience is able to find a decent relative pitch amongst themselves, with the more confident vocalists taking the lead and the less confident ones naturally holding back, though after he cuts everyone off, you can hear a couple of the off-pitch singers holding on for a split second trying to reach that pretty high final note he gave the "soprano" group. There is something really special about singing the same song with thousands of strangers. My high school choir went to NYC for a competition. All competing choirs had to learn the same song. Something like this, angelic and powerful. Around the whole church, 4 stories tall, packed full of high school choirs all singing the same song under the direction of one director. It is still one of my favorite memories. What an experience.
@cheuthao76247 ай бұрын
That sounds beautiful. I would get that same feeling just by playing in the school band. Loved it!

I did something similar in high school, we all learned this song and performed it in a really great auditorium. to put the icing on the cake, the man directing us was none other than the composer himself.
@Mund_aey7 ай бұрын
Same we also did that. Our school got together with all the other bands in they city (SA, so that's the sixth or eighth highest populated city) and we all played a song together. It was a production, and I can't even explain to you, how loud, yet controlled it was, everyone synchronizing, the beauty of hearing something so loud, thunderous, and angelic, Battle of the bands is something else

What's also beautiful is how they start in a minor key and eventually modulate to the relative major (3 simitones) up - Ç minor to Eb major. A strikingly beautiful contrast.

@@jet1flyover637To kinda put it simply, a minor key is a more gloomy feeling where a major would be more full of life. So in the beginning they started more gloomy and slowly rised to be mroe full of life. Of course there is way more to it then that but thats the way I think to put it.

@@jet1flyover637 They also are also called relative scales because they use the same notes, but one set of notes starts lower and one set starts higher. The lower set sounds darker and sadder (minor) and the higher set sounds brighter and happier (major). Minor scales, especially in this case, can also be called aeolian modes. Modes are a little more advanced, but it’s just fancy for saying the normal set of notes in a major scale but starting from a different note instead of the first, in this case starting from the 6th note in the scale and playing the rest normally
