You were a huge inspiration for me to get into putter refinishing. I refinished a couple over the last month or so and pretty proud of myself for how they came out!

Update: Thumbnail has been changed to its CURRENT paintfill colors 🤩🤩🤩🤩 My next goal is to get to 5000 subscribers!!! I know it may not happen but lets see if we can do it before the end of this year!! Also, any new project ideas feel free to shoot them to me! Always looking for new things to try! Thanks for your support!!! Also, was told the music in this video was Royalty Free. KZbin doesn't think it is so, am in the process of a muting it in the video. Sorry if that takes away from the quality. If so I may reupload later.

I love the updated paintfill! What size tap and die did you use for the button back screws? What size drill bit? We’re the screws a special order? Thank you

Screws are 6/32 - 1/8 buttonheads. Ordered through McMastercarr.

Love this!! I am wondering if you treated the face of the copper plate in a special way in order to prevent the color of the plate from changing? because the color of copper face turns dull as time goes.
@igolf90611 ай бұрын
It actually darkens. And no there's no coating on it. I like the raw feel of the copper itself and the character of a copper patina makes it stand out over time. But if your bothered by it there are solutions out there that will clean it up.

I dig it. Are you considering picking up a welder for yourself? Maybe even a mill, down the road?
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. And probably not. This hobby turned into a part time job for me, so after I start taking putters in again late Fall, I will be taking it easy. Probably only take them in small batches. No plans on expanding. Plus I like the opportunity to work with other guys in the industry and support them with the custom work I send them so, it's a win win.
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
With that said I do have a mini mill. In its current state not able to properly face mill but with some modifications it could easily do it. Not sure if I will ever take that on because I'm not experienced. And I definitely don't want to be ruining peoples putters. I don't have the welder to fix it 🤣

What kind of wheel do you use to get the imperfections out of the putter?
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
It's a convolute/unitized deburring wheel. Check my description for links to all the tools I use.

Think you found a big enough hammer?😂 Great work as always man, I am kinda curious why you went with a black wrap instead of just getting a black shaft though... As for future projects, I would love to see you do an old school bronze anser putter. Do something modern to it like have the face milled, but keep some of the dings and dents to give it character. 😊
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
This is my personal gamer, and I had a few shafts laying around and one Black wrap left so. Otherwise probably would have got a KBS CT Tour like my last one. And good idea! An old bronze PING has always been on my mind.
@kall3467 Жыл бұрын
@igolf906 I just picked up an old anser a few weeks ago for posterity sake and I gotta say, I like it. Not as much as my piretti, but I like it. 😆 I soaked it in vinegar for a couple of days to get it back to more of a natural color and that's good enough for me.😉

The applicator for the black paint fill...is that something you purchase on Amazon? I have been using cheap ones and the needles pull out, inconsistent paint flow or basically just pieces of crap! Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Gaunt Industries. They allow you to build your own custom applicator tools.

Hi how would too recommend doing this at home with just sandpaper and a Dremel and polishing kit

It can be done. But honestly with out a glass bead blast, you will never get this type of finish.

It was a few degrees toe down
@drew2180 Жыл бұрын
Great work! What did you use to wrap the shaft? did the weight change drastically with the movement of the neck?
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
Its a wrap from ShaftWraps. And it essentially turned it into nearly face balanced so if you're talking swing weight I'm sure there's a slight difference. I also swapped out the weights for 5 grams. Wanted a lower head weight so it's currently at 315 grams.

Here's a couple questions. What Guage needtip paint bottles do you use? Have you thought about getting a milling machine to do your own faces? This was so awesome. Love your content!!!

I believe they are 20 gauge tips. And no, it wouldn't really be cost efficient for me, as this is just a hobby of mine, and space is currently limited.

how do you maintain the copper so that it doesn't tarnish?
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
Personally I don't. I like when it tarnishes. Just adds character. But simple mixes of lemon juice and baking soda will take it off. Or white vinegar and salt. There's a few ways.

Sometimes use alcohol to line the dots helps. Otherwise you see in the video I use a small torch that you hit it really quick and gets rid of bubbles and smooths it out.
