My friends think I'm crazy, but my personal favorite is to combine Rapid Fire with Beam Overload. I know Surgical Strikes would be better, but I just enjoy RF+BO for the immersion.

Should point out all Romulan Warbirds can use Aux Cannons, so a DewSci build can be viable on those ships, for example the Legendary Valdore

Are aux cannons really the goto for dew Sci? You're eating your epg fuel to shoot the cannons.

@@peterhans3791 I mean with Aux Cannons, it dose allow you to invest power in just Aux instead of trying to divide power between Aux and Wpn. Tho would be an extra help if there is a way to boost both Aux Power and Max Aux Power in a similar way that Iso Mags do with Wpn Power. Anyhow, the Gear on the Atlantis, including both console and experimental weapon, dose seem to work better with other types of ships like Sci-Destroyers and any Tac Warbird that can have a decent setup for Sci Abilities. Like I set up my Legendary Valdore with Aux Cannons for a Dew-Sci Build, and it's pretty good

I did not know I need yet another temporal destroyer, but they released this ship. @ 5:26 you say use the soliton wave impeller in place of the dewsci experimental. The issue is that dew Sci tends to be no energy in engines or shields because it's all in weapons and aux. Not saying that makes this weapon great, but it's probably the thinking that went into makiking this... Or maybe it's just for all those aux dhc enthusiasts out there. P. S this ship looks AMAZING! Challenger is a beauty all on it's own, but Atlantis is chef's kiss using the 32nd vanity shield. Lights up in all the right places without looking tacky.

From what I've seen of other people making DewSci builds on this, it's just the "science" builds where you're spamming universal consoles and only using science abilities as Uncon procs to lower the cooldowns of your consoles to spam those, while just pew pewing with something like Spiral Waves and Isomags with the EPG modifier. One of the reasons I'm watching less and less of STO content the normal few are putting out because it's all the same build shoveled onto every ship it can fit on for quick clicks instead of trying to make unique builds that fit and still do good damage. Auggie used to do "off meta" builds, where half the stuff is still just the same equips spliced in with one or two flavor picks, but even he's stopped doing those in favor of just slapping the exact same build onto everything and running a patrol. At least you did something different and did a single target build. That's more than most "content creators" are pushing these days.

You realise everyone is doing reviews of the big new expensive fancy anniversary ship bundle right??? They are doing reviews of these ships and their full potential, of course they’d use the best build possible. How else would you do a review of a ships potential otherwise??? When a new Ferrari comes out you’d hope reviewers take it to a race track, not park it in a car park and try to sleep in it overnight for their review… Auggie also has an off-meta Proton build coming up that is waiting on the Pahvo set to get fixed, so blame the devs for not getting their shit together and making other builds viable or even working in the first place.

@@Mr_Waffle. And his inbetween builds that aren't on a new ship? EVERY build he's been doing is just the same items, traits, doffs, etc. all crammed into another ship. "Oh this time it's an overload build!" but it's the same as every single other overload build he's done. "Oh this time it's a torp build!" but it's the same as every other torp build he's done. Even that proton build is still using as much meta as possible because he refuses to deviate beyond the bare minimum glaze of theme. The problem I have is that every build they put out is the same. Him and Spencer. It's just gotten to the point I don't even watch their whole videos anymore because I've seen the same build they're slathering onto a new ship for years at this point, and I'm just there to see the parse of the trait or console from whatever's new that I might want to use. They refuse to do mid range builds, or actual theme builds, or literally anything else than slapping meta on a ship or bending a theme to be "meta" to the point it can't even be considered a theme build anymore. I actually think they would have a aneurysm if they had to do a build that "only" did 200k but had none of their main meta stuff on it. Something like a "basic c-store ships, traits, condoles, etc only, not even mudd's items".

@@AugmentedDictatorGames It's less that I think I can do better and more you keep falling back on the exact same builds on every ship. I get it, it's easy and makes big numbers to kill things quickly, but it's fucking boring to watch the exact same build on every single new ship to the point I can probably guess every single slot on it before I even open the video just by the title. Like I said to the other guy, at this point the only reason I even open your videos anymore is to scrub through to the point you talk about parsed damage numbers on the new trait or console because everything else I've seen dozens of times already. You have more game knowledge than most of the playing population and you refuse to do really anything with it that would step a fraction outside your comfort zone. Even on that new proton build what space core did you use? What consoles did you use? What traits did you use? It's literally your normally builds with a few different weapons slapped on and called a "theme build". Do something different for once. Slum it with the rest of the 200ker's for a change.

@Ashendal Maybe you should watch the proton video again because I am using the entire Dyson rep core and weapon set on that build plus the auto-targeting modules that increase proton damage. I also did a build with the T'pau Scout Ship based around bathroom humor that could barely break 200k most of the time but it had space fart clouds galore. I do full theme builds and budget alternatives all the time. Maybe you're not watching all the videos. Regardless this is Gauss's video, so I am not going to argue with you here out of respect for him. You want to continue this discussion you know where I am online.

Lol keep commenting on the looks! Our outraged comments at badmouthing our babies just drive engagement, right? Love your videos even when you talk bad about ships I love. Dewsci is perfectly viable on escorts (the Byr’jai from last year was excellent at it and now the Atlantis), and the experimental weapon is meant for those builds. However, the exp weapon still sucks. You wouldn’t run Soliton because you need high aux and weapons for Dewsci, but the cyclone exp weapon or the Byr’jai exp weapon perform WAAAAY better than the Atlantis exp weapon even with maxed aux and high EPG.
