To be fair, 5 tactical is still good, but you aren't doing torps without command seating, and it can't do science. 5 tac didn't get worse, it just got slightly outclassed.

The price some pay for power, at the expense of build variety . Don't get me wrong, I also like Isomags -- from my point of view as a mid+ tier player, they enabled my beloved Engineer(s) to do Elite content without me feeling outclassed & like a drag on the team -- but I also see the downsides to that power and the ugly "what do I have to leave off the build" dance that nearly every Isomag build requires. Isomags are the opposite to an expansionist build, one where Cryptic will have to get more and more creative to get me to buy something with a console, specifically to get me to trade their new console with something that I already have .

I don't mind the 5 tac consoles, because what most people forget is that you can get the Protomatter Infusers from the Fleet Dranuur Colony, they give the same Cat1 damage buff as Isomags, but they aren't considered Advanced consoles so you can slot both the Infusers and Isomags on the same build. Fun ship tho

Well, as you say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I think she's a beauty. I've always loved the Defiant, and the bug ships, so seeing their love child is a joy, and it's triplets, so even better lol. It's a fun ship, and with it not taking isomags, I've filled mine up with fun stuff, like the console from the Hirogen Hunter. I was a bit disappointed that it doesn't take the console from the Mercury, it is a pilot escort, but I also put the Bozeman engine on, just for that extra bit of zip. 100% fun. And, for those who don't like the look of it, at least they can strip it for that polaron console and put it on whatever ship they like. Definitely the best event ship I've seen, but then it is only my third event ship.

For free, an excellent ship, i slapped the same build on it as my leg defiant and it did pretty well. What I like is there's nothing meta on it, so people that miss it wont be cursing the game come months to come (like do with older event ships I don't have)

Yup it's a fine ship alright. Powerful enough for elite content and fun to fly. Well worth the grind. I built mine with 4 isomags at T6X2 and it works just fine with a CSV setup.

I dont play the games but I liked the Defiant and Jem Hadr ships in the shows. I began to be so burned out of the usual ships, then Voyager came out a little bit better. Glad to see the variety thats coming out

Since Poloron isn't exactly a fan favorite -- it would have been nice to see the performance of that Experimental weapon on a non Poloron build, to see how it would perform on "everything else" .

It also can use the flagship console for the flagships and the dominion fleet accelerator from the jemhadar Battlecruiser which is nuts. I can basically run both of them for extra damage and team support

While I usually agree with you, I'm not in your corner on the matter of the overall design of the Rex. I think it's a great looking little ship. There is, fortunately, no accounting for taste. LOL

What? The Defiant is the only ship worth looking at in Starfleet (in my honest Opinion). In fact I fly everything except Starfleet ships. I strongly prefer Gorn, Tholian, Orion, and KDF ships. I hate anything with a saucer of any kind. If the feds want my money, give me a Typhon class carrier.

Given how horrible the parent ships look they did a surprisingly good job with merging them. It honestly looks passible as a Star Trek ship, which is more than I can say for either Defiant or the Bug Ship. I have hated those eyesores since the 90s. If they got rid of that radome at the back, rounded out the nose (ditching the droop while they were at it) and thinned out the nacelle front half while adding a classical Federation Bussard cap to them it would look quite good. It takes a total overhaul to their frames to achieve that with either of its progenitors.

rude, i love the looks LMAO, It's fun how much has change in sto in the past year in this ships case i use ISO-magx4 (Phaser) and selected consoles and sets gear for fire rate, energy, crt-D and crt-H as the B-FAW build get 190k-DPS and ISO-magx4 (Polaron) and selected consoles and sets gear towards boost polaron , Fire rate, , Cannons, for a CVS build hitting 176k-dps to of my best scores in ISA

100% with you on the kitbash looks. I thought it was ridiculous when the first Alliance ship came out and they have all been fugly af apart from the Temer. Still, one heck of a free package. I've put the console on my carrier, along with the cheap-as-chips Athan console for even more pet spam goodness. The trait confuses me as I never know how much crit = how much debuff (eg is this better or worse than ship of the line, assuming you are parked up whilst firing CSV? )

This has the Adamant's nose and the Adamant's nose was a huge improvement on the droopy Defiant. In fact it's one of the most gorgeous ships in the game.

This ship was very overated yeah it was very good but doesn't look very good and doesn't do anything better than any other ship and also the trait doesn't seem to change unless you reverse or go forward actual speed doesn't seem to work

The Adamant is one of the best-looking ships in the game and the Bug Ship is one of the ugliest. They've combined both into this... beautiful monstrosity. I've had a lot of fun in it, regardless, but returning to my actual Adamant is a pleasure. To be rid of that hideous bug section...
