This is a house that came up for sale in Greeley Colorado and is one of the coolest houses I have seen in a while. It has some very unique characteristics and design features.

Oh my gosh…I was born in 1974, and this would have been the house of my dreams growing up. We were pretty poor, and lived in an old sort-of cross between a one-story farmhouse and a shotgun house, built in the mid-30s. My friends whose parents were more upper-middle-class had houses somewhat like this in decor style, and it was always such a treat, in my eyes, to see carpet in the bathrooms, and carpeted stairs, and the central vacuum system, and….well, y’all get the idea. If I lived in Greeley, Colorado - and could afford it - I would grab this house quick and change almost nothing. Great house and great video! Thank you!

The previous owners must have kept an immaculate house. The home is so clean considering how old it is. Most times you can walk into an older home and immediately know that it's old.

You can tell someone lived in it gently and loved it for many years by the shape its in ! Hopefully the new owner will love it and not destroy all the cool features by making it too modern. Seems buyers either live in them as is or start changing things right away and not always for the better.

My grandma had the exact tiles in her shower like the upstairs bathroom and her house was built in 1970. I think the master bath is original. The carpets look pristine and the colors of those carpets are very 70’s. It’s like a well preserved time capsule. The only thing that looks newer is the front door. I would have loved to see what their furnishings and decor looked like. Very Brady Bunch!

70s houses are the best! The house I loved the most was next to my church. The church bought it. But I got to stay there with Girl Scouts & camp outs with the Boy Scouts . Loved it! Was built on a fault line? It had to be demolished. Broke my heart!

My grandparents had a very similar house, just bigger on the living room kitchen side. Instead of a deck off the dining room in the same space the added a breakfast room off the kitchen, which makes the laundry bigger below. The master sitting room was also another bedroom in their floor plan and their bathroom was much smaller. Very cool to see.

The designer was truly ahead of the times with that house. It's very cool. 2 sinks in the master bath, not common in the 70s. I usually hate bi level homes but that was really cool. What is asking price? It would be a sin if they tore that down or changed a bunch. Love it!

@@OJennifer13 me personally I don’t like it because it’s half in the basement and half upstairs. Like just give me an actual basement and the main floor. Lol. Also from an able bodied person who previously had a temporary handicap 3-6 stairs are far more dangerous than a full flight.

Last year my husband and I took the leap into buying a single family home upgrading from our town home. A 1971 3200 sqft home tucked into a half acre terraced and heavily gardened lot. Much of the home is still original to the 70's. But super cool features like pocket doors, vaulted ceilings, a 'cat walk' over the living room/front entry. They had converted 3 bedrooms and a bath on the northwestern corner of the house into a huge master bedroom using one whole of the previous bedrooms for a walk in closet. They had also added a bump out for an enormous kitchen/dining area. Original barn wood paneling the walls in the basement, and the corded carpeting is still present there. Front office area has mahogany wood, the original paisley wallpaper, and a Murphy bed. A lot of people had passed on the house because of the work needed for modern upgrades, but my husband and I saw the potential for how unique it will be. We are in the process of painting, and will eventually upgrade the vinyl flooring in the kitchen and on the outer edges of the living room (which is sunken). But it's a truly one of a kind home, and we love it. ❤️

WOW! We never get to see a house this clean! These people could not have had kids unless everything was covered in custom clear plastic covers, including the carpet and walls! The glass blocks and type of tub in the primary bath were a very 80’s thing and the linen cabinet doesn’t match. So I suspect that the primary bath was revamped not too long after the house was constructed. The toilet has definitely been replaced with a modern one.

At a guess, it was custom built; both the unusual features you described as well as things like brass covered floor outlets and other small hardware I usually associate with commercial building give me that impression. It needs repaint outside- you are spot on- that "angledy" living room porch is a great feature, and the sun blasted paint really hurts. But all over, even on video, much of the dark brown is having long term sun and weather problems- I would pick a different color, the brown has little "pop". It's an awesome house, but the price, neighborhood, comparables, you know the list, will determine how this goes. You didn't show it much but how is the roof looking? The house has been well taken care of- I think the windows- another area I wish you had got more film on, have been replace and the replacements look really nice. Again, your call on the lighting fixtures being among the most dating things. This looks to be a fast turn, and is in way better shape than many of your choices- the folks over to the Ocho probably don't hang there much. I hate saying that, but the poor and struggling are hard pressed to not make targets of themselves- not having the wherewithal to "pay attention" will do that to you. Hope your bid is a hit and look forward to the update/flip on this one!

I was a home builder from the late 50s untill the mid 90s in SE PA. In the 50s, and 60s the one story homes called (ranch style) were very popular. By the 70s split level homes had become very popular, mainly because they offered more living space within the same size footprint. Bi Levels also became (somewhat) popular for the same reason, but not nearly as popular as the split levels. At least in the area we were building. A Bi Level home is simply a ranch home design with an on grade finished basement. They do offer lots of living space for that very reason, the basement is now living area at ground level. One could also argue that they are a 2 story home built on a concrete slab. Yes, there are less steps to get from the foyer to the upper living area. That is if you dont count the steps needed to get from ground level to the foyer. They offer lots of floor space for living, and are a good choice for certain type lots. But certainly not all lots, which is where the home design should begin. What dates most older homes, regardless of type, is ceiling height, narrow hallways, and the kitchen and bathroom designs. One large more open room, with a vaulted or high ceiling, is far more desirable than the older traditional living room, dining room, and kitchen designs of years past. A complete gut job of that house would be doing it a very big favor.
