Clyde McPhatter had such a distinct voice, I can see why a lot of groups wanted him. ‘Lover’s Question’ and ‘White Christmas’ are my favorites.

I been following Clyde's career since the 50s and the presenter of this video adds to the information that I was unaware of. I remember his and the Drifters' music mainly from the 60s during my visits to Columbus, Ohio when listening to top 40 station WCOL 1230 AM.

My favorite songs my Clyde McPhatter are It's A Lover's question & Treasure of Love. I also like 60 minute man when he sang with The Dominos. The Drifters had many changes in their group. When Clyde McPhatter sang with them, I loved their White Xmas song. But later when the lead vocalist changed, I enjoyed songs like "Up on the Roof, Dance With Me and There Goes My Baby. I still listen to this timeless music ❤❤❤❤❤

So many great solo hits but always fund myself returning to Without Love. The way his voice elevates to a crescendo is spine tingling.

McPhatter remains one of THE greatest male vocalists ever, especially in R&B, to ever do it! McPhatter has influenced many premiere vocalists to come after him, including the iconic Ronald Isley. A favorite of mine by McPhatter is "The Mixed Up Cup."

I do have a question, I know you've done Jackie Wilson and you've now done Clyde McPhatter. Have you done one on Billy Ward And His Dominoes? Just curious. He was like a mean leader of his group and just like Harold Melvin. They had their members leave due to the one in charge. However, I knew about Clyde McPhatter's solo career. It just wasn't as successful as it should have been. I didn't know it declined after 1964. That's just not a long solo career then!

Not as of yet, but since I knocked out Jackie and now Clyde I do have Billy Ward on my list as an individual video also The Dominos and The Drifters as individual videos

The most vocally untouchable world greatest tenor was Roland Hayes. His songs would grip you by the soul. He would write songs using perfect grammer in French, German, Italian and English. The guy could walk on stage with no musicians and use only his voice and gospel upbringing and snatch his audience by the liver leaving them breathless.
