In the 7th round of the National Chess Championship 2024, Vyom Malhotra (1804, HAR) was playing with the White pieces against Saisarvesh S (1937, TN). Check out a very rare endgame between these two players - where Vyom had a Rook, Bishop and Knight, and Saisarvesh had a Rook and Bishop - with no pawns on the board. Watch till the end for a dramatic finish!

Let me tell you that the game is a draw if he would had played Reason : I saw that in this video the player played 30 moves in the 50 move rule I guess if he would he let the opponent take the bishop it would still take around 10 moves to take the rook If the rook are exchanged it would take more than 10 moves to mate the king

Black was sort of holding on with a piece down, but the bishop blunder was fatal. The little guy was excited to point out that black could’ve moved the bishop to g6 instead of h5, but he was oblivious that the other guy was pissed!😂

The interesting thing is - touching the Bishop is a blunder itself. Can you figure out why the Bishop can't be moved to g6?

4:40 Yes, after ...Bg6 black is lost too . One line is 1...Bg6 2. Ra5+ Ke6 3. Ne5 Rd6 4.Bc5 Rd1 5.Nxg6 With is 2 pieces up, it is not so hard to convert . The best idea 4:40 would have been probably to attack the bishop 1...Rc4 2.Ke3 Ra4
