In 1989, Italian industrialist Romano Artioli acquired the Bugatti name and constructed a facility in Italy to produce a mid-engine supercar that would evoke the mystique of the original. The car debuted in 1991 and was called the EB110 after the founder of the mark, Ettore Bugatti, who would have been 110 years old that year. Its 3.5-liter aluminum and titanium V-12 engine was fitted with four small turbochargers. Top speed of the 552-horsepower car was over 210 miles per hour thanks to advanced ground effects and an efficient, speed sensitive rear wing. Unfortunately, production of the EB110 coincided with a dramatic decline in the supercar market during the 1990s and just 126 were produced. The Bugatti factory was later closed, and the name sold to Volkswagen.

Great video - so much nostalgia with this car. Sorry about the drive shaft vs the F40 on Carwow's channel, but I can't thank you enough for making my childhood fantasy come to life seeing those 2 side by side. It must have been surreal to see them line up in person. Absolutely amazing. I'd take the EB110 over the Chiron on nostalgia alone!

The black over red leather one would be my choice. The EB110 seems to be relatively forgotten when compared with the Porsche 959, Ferrari F40, XJ220, and McLaren F1.

@@JoJoJoker i would say the XJ220 is as understated as the EB110 too, the two of them would be a Holy Grail to have in one’s garage

@@Blargishtarbin I wonder if the EB110 name, along with being Bugatti’s birthday, is also related to it being #1 fastest car in the world over the XJ220. Seems like too much of a coincidence. “Jaguar isa numba 2, Bugatti isa a numba 1” is a very Italian thing to do.

I loved this car long ago that the only way I could own one was to get a model and so I have a black EB 110 in my collection in 1/43 scale and I’ve had it for nearly 30 years now .

Saw this exact car at the Saratoga Springs Automobile Museum over the Summer! One of the reasons had to go was to see that car! Thank you for loaning it out. My highlight of my automotive year!

I spent 2 days detailing one of these for Philadelphia Car Show. There was a Chevy dealer called Rothrock that was going to sell them. Most amazing car of it's day bar none

Love Bugatti EB110 GT/SS from Italian 90s period, than German 00s and 10s period (Veyron,Chiron) The Croatian 20s under Rimac is gonna be MEGA!!! ( Mistral, Bolide and the NEW hybrid with the New NA engine)!! According to Bugatti Rimac CEO Mate Rimac, the New Bugatti + the New NA engine is gonna be something very very special !! 😎
