I have a feeling that Akainu and Aokiji had a zoro and sanji type relationship. When Kizaru asked him if he had ever killed his best friend, Akainu pauses for a moment. I think he was thinking back to his battle with kuzan. I think he probably saw him as his closest friend because he was his biggest rival

the larger push in hollywood for diversity in casting and storytelling is largely aimed at righting a historical wrong-giving voice to groups who have been marginalized in american history and american film history. not to say that that isn’t the case for indian americans as well, but using the sheer global population of indians as an argument is missing the point a bit. we’re talking about a more specific context here i think, and in this case, i don’t know that casting indian actors who already have some pull in indian cinema in place of egyptians in an egyptian-themed story is really working toward that same argument

Yeeeeah Luffy being torn up about Vegapunk's death threw me. Not because he wouldn't be sad about it but because it didn't show through in Gear Fifth. The last few chapters I think a better job was done at letting Luffy convey different emotions in that form, however when Vegapunk actually died the reaction did not come through. I'm of the opinion that first and foremost feelings in this form should be portrayed accurately. Sure there's the suspension of disbelief that it's supposed to be a happy go lucky mode and that portraying other emotions wouldn't make sense, but it's not breaking anything in my opinion to let him do both. It'd be nice to really see him get angry when it counts, consistency of the form be damned it's a lot more important to know what he's feeling. It's kind of like how a lot of times in super hero movies discussions that are meant to hit hard and rely on facial acting tend to be done when the hero has the mask off. The emotion coming through is really important.

Kizaru is interesting because he's a bit of a monster in his early appearances. He takes joy in tearing the Strawhats apart. But when he finds himself on Egghead having to kill people he cares about, suddenly it isn't as fun anymore. He still fulfils his duty regardless.

I think AI is a touchy subject for people in general right now because of how quickly AI art evolved from being “creepy uncanny meme image generators” to something that threatened the livelihood of a lot of artists. Right now a lot of people are worried about the impact this sort of tech will have on the job market across a variety of different fields. Today’s “fun meme app” can very easily pave the road for tomorrow’s industry-killing workforce automation tools, which fuck over millions of workers and consumers alike

In the whole Egghead Zoro feels off. First he wanted to ask VP something, that was already odd. 2nd he insisted on a fair duel between him and Lucci even though the later was clearly stalling. He could have easily used a follow up attack when Lucci was about to go down, instead he cared about fairness. It was Jinbei who had to get his hands dirty. Seriously even in the face of 5 Elders, Zoro carried on doing absolutely nothing. And this arc Zoro didn't get lost, he usually does even in a group. Sanji was right to call him useless and Zoro had the audacity to declare they had nothing to apologize to. Seriously... It feels this Zoro is an imposter. I hated Zoro this arc. If it were truly a high diff fight against Lucci, I would have been ok, but it is not.. Zoro vs King was higher diff for Zoro. This feels like Zoro vs Pica and instead of how Zoro was fighting at Dressrossa here he was just whacking at the stones. This feels way off. Something is wrong. Did something happened at Wano which will be shown later.. This feels way off...
