Roger was sick, I really like that he doesn't look overly beefed up in his last moments, but actually like a sick dying Man and his Actor is a great one. Taz using his British accent makes so much sense, to make him stand out a bit and establish that he is not from the east blue, also outside the UK, people associated certain UK Accents with Royalty or some sort of politeness and good manners it might play well with the Mr Prince Imagine. I think it's a fun little detail. I totally understand that they make plot and character changes, the worst thing to do is try to make 1 on 1 anime, that always ends bad. As long, the core of the crew, and important moments are adapted, I'm happy to have fun with.

I think what they’re gonna do is have all of the East Blue villains be in one place at the Baratie, and all hell breaks loose leading them to the next arc. Think of it like the pirate island scenes in Pirates of the Carribean. They’ve probably tried to condense it. The nice thing is that any change you see is approved by Oda. So this is something he would have wanted.

I was thinking that maybe Mihawk actually does what he came there to do and takes care of Don Kreig before his fight with Zoro and then the fishmen show up to take Nami and it’s understandable that certain things need to be cut to make way for the important moments to get in

The Baratie is a restaurant ship. They do not have to stay stationary. Maybe they moved near Cocoyashi village? That would be feasable and plausible with the OP world and help condense the story a bit. Giving that they have 8 Episodes a 45-60 min each, which are roughly 3 anime episodes, we got 24 anime episodes to gover everything up to the end of Arlong Park. As the trailer does not show the crew at Logue Town and not shows Smoker, I think the Arlong will be the 1st seasons end. If 8 eposides each season will be what we get, they them might start with Logue Town in the 2nd season, if we get it, leading to Laboon, Whiskey Peak, Drum and Little Garden and ending with the sailing to/arriving in Alabasta, where it would be perfect for a 3rd season to start. That is of course if Netflix can deliver to/for the fans and not fall prey to hubris and woke ideology messaging like they did with The Witcher. At least they don't have to force diversity into the show for no reason other than ideological agenda. OP is naturally diverse, given that it's a whole world and not, like the Witcher, just half a continent based on parts of Europe. OP fans have no problem with diversity, but they would tear Netflix a new one, if they made f.e. Shanks or Zoro black because... "reasons".

Krieg was casted so I dont think they will skip him, but considering that they did change things to fit people are speculating that Arlong appears in Baratie after the fight with Krieg as the crew is recovering and takes Nami away Also on the changes, Oda did have veto power so he approved them.

I really enjoyed the trailer and am looking forward to the show!! Just to point out some things: 1) The man at Roger's execution is almost definitely Garp, makes sense since Garp went toe to toe with him several times. 2) Don Krieg has been cast, so he will show up. No confirmation for Gin though. 3) Arlong also shows up at Buggy's place (if you pause at 1:53 in the trailer you can see a clown in the background) so it's possible that he's tracking down Nami, because she's been gone away for too long. I hope that she still "betrays" the strawhats instead of being taken though. 4) There is reasoning behind making Arlong Park look more like a water park... but I'll stop there because it might be a spoiler for you

The Fishman who fought Sanji in Arlong Park is named Kuroobi. Edit: I'm definitely in the optimistic camp. The major gripe I had after the teaser was the lack of camaraderie between Luffy, Zoro, and Nami in that banter scene; after this trailer, I'm confident they're still going to get the Straw Hats' vibe going in the right direction.

I think Shanks is fine, he is the type of character who is either dead serious looking or in a party mood. He is supposed to look like this in the flash back. infact ealry in the anime he looked shabby lol

@@lordgrimgaming It's not necessarily the shabbiness, it's the size of the hat to his head and I think one of the reasons there were so many wig comments about the first trailer is that they haven't gotten the color correction right for red hair yet. I suspect this is the gun scene with the mountain bandits and he doesn't seem menacing enough.

Yeah I’m hoping that the actors performance sways me on Shanks that is a character that needs to have a presence through his actions and charisma I think it’s a tough one to pull off same with Mihawk

I'm cautiously optimistic, the trailers really impressed me but like you said they probably cherry picked the best bits to show off. My main concern is the more serious and emotional scenes, they really need to nail those to get the proper One Piece experience.
