To make your Dutch oven look less “well-loved”, clean it with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (or better yet the dollar store version-much cheaper). I cleaned my Dutch oven that was covered in smoke from the smoker-came out looking new again from the blacked color the smoke added. Just be sure to wash it with regular dish soap when your done! 😊

Advice from an old woman...watch some of the YT prepping channels to learn how to slowly, over time, build up a stocked pantry so you don't run out of things. It will reduce your stress level. In today's world, it's never a bad idea to have a couple of weeks of food on hand to feed your family in case of an emergency. Even at $5 a week, you'll have a nicely stocked pantry before you know it. Good luck!
@FeedingtheByrds Жыл бұрын
We actually have a few things stocked up for that! We keep it all separate from our regular food though.

Couple of weeks supply… I have stashed 36 months… hidden and buried. If you’re a prepper, tell no one 👍👍👍
@playinatlife5778 Жыл бұрын
@@JenniferA886 Smart! I didn't want to overwhelm anyone by saying, "get a year's worth of food." But you're right! If for no other reason than to save money. What you buy today is cheaper then it will be in 6 months.
@JenniferA886 Жыл бұрын
@@playinatlife5778 exactly… however, the general population has no idea. I used to live in the uk with my ex girlfriend, and we started prepping, and gathered up a few weeks of food and supplies. She accidentally told her brother, the brother informed his girlfriend, that girlfriend informed her family, and before we knew it, we had people at our door calling us weirdos and selfish to the needy, desperate and hungry. Within a week the food and supplies were basically gone, and a week later my girlfriend and me had split up over it all. Now I live in a remote area of New Zealand, and I’ve hidden and buried all my supplies and food preps. I’ve told absolutely no one, and I’m ready for any shtf event. Essentially, when it comes to a natural disaster or a nuclear event, there’ll be chaos and riots… tell no one. And use OPSEC. It’s the unprepared that’ll end you. Great idea as well regarding prepping channels… my favourite is Canadian Prepper - he has a KZbin channel. Best of luck to you. Careful who knows about your preps, as when it all happens you’ll have many people turning up, and remembering you as “that crazy but prepared old lady with loads of food”. When it comes to disasters and nuclear incidents, friends and family will rapidly turn from “normal” to insane and wild animals with no morals 👍👍👍

I think it's actually fine to substitute whatever is on hand , if you don't have that specific meat / other type of ingredient....why go to the Market if it's not " critical " , lol.
